i haven't played skyrim for 4 hours,but i said that because on hours 5> i haven't seen anything that i haven't seen on the first 4

and yes,all the enemies you mentioned,i found them while going across the map (well except any fire tree thing) but that doesn't change the fact that the last 4 quest i did involved going in very similiar location, fighting similiar enemies

Quote
You said you joined the thieves guild. In order to join the thieves guild you have to steal something in broad day light, and plant it on a guy without anyone noticing. A difficult task, and an AWESOME one.  And you're complaining about lack of variety because there only missions where you kill people?

i'm complaining about a lack of variety because it involves killing the same people in the same location and getting the same reward out of it,having a mission that lasted less than 2 minute and that was about as easy as navigating 2 menu doesn't change this fact

i don't mean reused as "you go in the same place" i mean reused as in "they feature the same thing"

i mean look at that list, there's 20 quest that feature these guys, and i think i only cleared about 3 of them and i'm already sick of punching their stupid face

Draugr's are only in dungeons where you learn dragon shouts. That's why there are 20 of them. I rarely encounter draugr caves. If you're doing the main story, and strictly the main story, that's why you're encountering them so much, because you will be learning thu'um after thu'um.

There are like 100 dungeons in Skyrim.

You just got unlucky by managing to get two Draugr dungeons in a row.

Who cares.

I don't think variety is Skyrin's problem. Skyrim's problem is that everything is tailored towards the player. You become the top mother fucker in EVERYTHING and no one gives a shit. I hope the expansions fix this.

Crysis 2

I have no goddamn clue what is going on.  You start and it goes:

-Stock footage of New York in panic.  Some CG guy on a fake news shows talks about an infection or something.
-Suddenly you're in a submarine.  Your name is Alcatraz and you're going into New York to ???  Something destroys the sub, you swim out, everyone is killed by an aircraft, except you, cuz some guy in a nanosuit saves you.
-Then there's this video showing a guy in a nanosuit tearing shit up against random soldiers in New York (the guy in the nanosuit? maybe?)
-You wake up in a nanosuit (was that guy Alcatraz?).  Walk forward five feet, there's a flashback to when you're unconscious (???) showing Prophet (from the first game) giving you his nano suit and shooting himself cuz he's infected.  He tells you to save some guy cuz ???
-You walk ten feet.  Some guy addresses you as Prophet and yells some shit at you.
-You get outside.  The game zooms into random soldiers and basically tells you to kill them.  Who are these people.  They address you as Prophet and shoot at you cuz Prophet is a bad (good?) guy.  You kill more of them as this guy yells at you to follow a blue icon.
-Eventually you go into a place and these people are all sick and there are these glowing bugs.  Should mention that before there's all this infection gear around the levels.
-Level ends with someone talking about aliens.  So, what the fuck.

The first game was Predator.  You're this super squad fighting Koreans when BAM aliens.  In Crysis 2 I feel like a dick killing people who seem to be helping contain this infection.  The game doesn't established anything.

blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh,i am so annoyed

as i said a while ago,i decided to give a spin to more japanese adventure games and i decided to start with umineko,as you may remember i followed the anime pretty close but in the end got pretty blue-balled when the thing ended in a cliffhanger and the rest of the story was shut out in some obscure game, after now going trough that game guess what? the game never tells you explicitly who's the culprit, how he did it or why,it sorta implies how the whole thing went, but it never says "uh-uh it went this way" and instead it drags itself in every single way it can think of,i once heard the term "diarrhea of the mouth" for people that talk too much, well whoever wrote this clearly suffered from "diarrhea of the hands"

anyway if there's someone else which still feels blue balled about the whole thing (i think great rumbler? bebpo?) i'll be happy to write a summary of the rest,be prepared that it features "THE POWER OF LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

When I finished Crysis 2 it made me think to myself if I really enjoyed shooters anymore. It was just so boring. They took Crysis 1, dumbed it down, and forced it through a narrow tube. I really don't know why I bothered finishing it because I definitely didn't have fun. Probably mostly out of spite.

It's weird because then I went and played Syndicate earlier this year and loved it. It's not too far removed from Crysis 2 in what it does really. Actually I would say that it's even MORE narrow and linear.

However there was something about Syndicate that stood out where Crysis 2 did not. Hard to explain really.

I dunno what point you're trying to make but Crysis 2 is pretty straight forward on its story.

* You're going to New York to extract a scientist who can help stop the alien race (you are just a normal soldier at this point)

(ALL THIS IS GOING ON WHILE THE ALIENS ARE ATTACKING)

* You get fucked up, obviously (BY SAID ALIENS)

* Prophet (from Crysis 1) appears, saves you and explains in a mysterious way that you will be the new owner, but he has to kill himself for the suit to work on you

* You learn that Prophet was infected iwth the virus going amok

* The video is just a stupid video showing how badass you can be (though you wont cause this game isnt that free form)

* You are Prophet because they think you are Prophet, obviously. And they (CELL - the army) want you dead, because you were obviously infected and a cause for this (as Prophet).

Played some 2 player splitscreen co-op Minecraft on the 360 with the kids yesterday.  It's pretty funny watching them play it.  They basically ignore everything that's in the game and just play house in the tutorial.  I wish I would've known that they'd just screw around in the tutorial...... I could've just downloaded the demo and have been fine.  I'm not sure why they're so addicted to it but we had a bunch of their friends over yesterday and they were all going fucking nuts screaming at each other about where to plant some flowers.  I just don't get it.

And we got a lot of Skylanders going on.  That's got to be the most insidious/genius game ever for sucking money out of parents.  With 20+ Skylanders along with some adventure packs I've probably spent close to 300 bucks on this crap.  The actual game seems like some quality kid stuff.

I'm just saying it's all presented poorly without establishing the world or ongoings.  Doesn't help that you're character is mute and there's no one around to question anything; the first game had squad mates commenting on the situation.  No one's like "who's prophet? what's this virus about? aliens!? why should I listen to this guy on the radio? who is this military force?"  It's not like Half Life where soldiers are aggressively doing things.  When you encounter the enemies in this game, they're just standing around or patrolling.

I'm not really knocking the game for it.  It's just an observation.  So far the game seems ok.  Moving around feels squirrely.  You're rubbing and leaning up against objects; there are little 2-foot high bumps that you need to jump over because they stop you dead if you walk at them.  But it's fun to slide into enemies and punch them on the ground.  It's fun to play aggressively in this.  Usually when a game has a stealth option I'd take it, but I wasn't feeling it in this game.

What I liked about Crysis 2 is that the Stealth was fun for me but if it broke down and I had to do action I didn't feel like a failure and the action was good enough to support it. A lot of so called stealth games are stealth games because the action in them stinks so you'd never actually want to fight anybody. I really like Deus Ex but that's a perfect example of that situation to me.

It was kind of hard to be really aggressive in Crysis 1 because of how easily you could get overwhelmed in a firefight. Not impossible, though, just hard.

Crysis 2 was definitely a more mainstream accessible shooter which meant making the run and gun approach more feasible. In Crysis 1 you took damage quickly and you could get overwhelmed very easily. And the combat distance was pushed out so people could hit you from very far away and vice versa. At least that's the way I remember the original although I haven't played it in a long time.

I was watching some Japanese wrestling on youtube (Dynamite Kid vs. Tiger Mask -  they had an amazing series of matches), which made me really want to play Fire Pro Returns for the first time in several years. Booted it up in PCSX2, and it looks pretty nice aside from a few glitches, but maybe I have to adjust some settings or something. Still one of the best games of all time.

Hayabusa vs. Bryan Danielson :bow

Was a pretty good match too. The finish was like 4 big moves back and forth between us, all ending with a 2.9 count - until Danielson hit me with two Perfect-plexes in a row for the win. I played on CPU level 9, so my grapple timing is very rusty. :D

The DLC was kind of average at best though.

Was just enjoying a fairly good session in The Godfather. A couple of story missions, a couple of assassinations with kill-criteria, several more businesses added to the Protection Racket... decided to buy a new safe house so I can save and go to bed, only to have the game hard-freeze as I approach the goal.

Really enjoying Junk Jack on iPad. Loving just digging straight down and mining stuff. My only complaint is that out of all the recipes, food seems to be the most important factor. I can't really eat it, so why didn't they concentrate on creating fun stuff instead.

Played some Akai Katana yesterday (US release)... excellent game, probably Cave's best since Futari. On the "Blade" mode, the game seems to be very well balanced, it's not as merciless as stuff like ESPGaluda 2 or Dodonpachi Daioujou, in fact I made it to stage 4 without continuing my first time I played it... the difficulty isn't too easy, isn't too tough. Graphics and animations are very nice, and the music is awesome buttrock.

done with the civil war questline, that was kind of boring,"YOU FEEL LIKE TAKING DOWN A FORT?" "SURE THING" "ALLRIGHT GO AND MURDER EVERYONE" repeat 3 times... i went with the stormcloaks cause the imperials are jerk,at least it was short

i think i'm also almost done with the thief line quest,i just killed that mercer guy and got the skeleton key,the falmer ruins were a nice change of pace with the robots and the like, more stuff like that and less draugr caves would make things better

finished Radiant Historia. What an ending! Who would have thought that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father? Seriously the game came together real well at the end. I found the conclusion to the story interesting and surprising. Cool game!

Also picking away at Retro Game Challenge, it's pretty funny.

my man quietID just picked up Rayman Origins for the 360, so I'll be rinsing that for 1000 soon. I watched some of it last night, what a gorgeous game.

Rayman Origins, Minecraft and Diablo 3. D3 is probably going to be the only one getting decent playtime for a while though

... and those are ...

carrots on a stick, tons of carrots on a stick,i'm a total sucker when it comes to items creation and the items come with new skills and stuff inside them a-la FF9

there are no carrots in skyrim, every quest just gives me more gold that i don't need or some other junk which is going to end up stored and unused in my house

The ability to pirate it.

i guess i like skyrim too then :smug
