SMB is designed around the fact that he sticks to walls. a lot of the levels require you sliding up and down walls. so there's not really any way to make it not happen.

Crysis 2

Fun game.  Stealth is totally broken in some funny ways.  On one hand, if you want to take out enemies, it doesn't work well at all.  AI behavior is confounding and it doesn't feel like a tactically viable approach.  On the other, there are sections of the game that you can entirely avoid by sneaking past including nearly the entire final level.

I played it as an action game.  Sliding, climbing, more sliding, chucking aliens into ceilings n stuff.  Game actually became more fun with aliens.  The humans would just stand around.  Aliens would jump and climb around the environment.

Still like Crysis 1 a lot more, because in general it's one of my favorite shooters.  But I enjoyed Crysis 2 for different reasons.  The story is unmitigated trash, though, or at least the presentation is.  And the graphics are seriously incredible at times.

Ghost Trick

On Chapter 14.  Really enjoying this with one or two exceptions.  First is that it can be too wordy in the puzzle sections, which is made worse by some trial and error puzzles forcing you to restart and view them again.  There's typically a checkpoint in the middle but sometimes you want to go back one step to not repeat a series.  It reminds me of Zak and Wiki in a way.

Story is ramping up.  There's nice humor and nice characters.  Animations are really expressive and the entire logic of the world is neat and feels cohesive.  Almost reminds me of a Tex Avery cartoon.

Started playing Saints Row the Third but it kept crashing every thirty minutes. Checked the Steam and Volition forums and the few people on there who encountered the same problem found no way to fix it. PC GAMMING

megaman x5 feels like a fixed and better version of megaman x4,like... there's still a train stage with a "slash" boss but this time the gimmick of exploding wagon is expanded, there is still a fire stage that feature's mech suits but this time you need the mech suits to progress, both games suspiciously have a stage set in a lab where you switch gravity to get around, both games have a motorbike stage (even tough the one in x5 is super annoying)

the bosses are harder to dodge but at the same time it feels like my life bar is huge so i guess in the end it's still quite easy, some of them have interessing gimmicks, which is nice

all this stuff they added is stupid tough "EQUIP PARTS,FIND ARMOR PIECE,FIX THE SHIP,OMG TIME LIMIT,ZERO VIRUS" >:(

i'm not sure i'm going to finish it because this part is seriously pissing me off

you can't even hug walls like you would do in megaman 2 because as soon as you do that, you start sliding lose speed and get hit by a laser :maf

annoying sniper reapers now replaced by annoying sniper militia

- race missions suck because you can't make the slightest move without sticking to something you don't want to stick to
- camera seems worse in this one, you'll get in spots where it will just spazz out
- half your body will disappear into the scenery from time to time

woof.

Well the 1st one got better, or I have been dulled enough that it seems charming now like a distinguished mentally-challenged kitten

it's not all bad, i like the setting a little better (the environment is more varied), and the extra powers come a lot faster

i also like the idea of user generated missions, i played a pretty funny one yesterday where you had to take out a bunch of dancing militia

it just seems like they didn't fix many/any of the nagging issues i had with the first (with the exception of the powers menu, which is much easier to get to and laid out a lot better)

i kind of feel bad for the main voice actor playing cole, he's really in there pitching and he'd probably be good in any other game, but you can tell he's just woefully miscast here

Play AC2

Revalation is the worst game in the series.  Brotherhood is alright but you only have 1 city to explore.

It's just really boring and the gameplay is not that great.  The city is dull brown and it's missing some of the good systems from the other game.

Why are you fighting this?  AC2 is perfectly bootleggable.  Go do your pirate thing and start playing that if you want to check out the AC series.  AC2 is good from the get go.  It's almost a jrpg.

I really wanted to get into the AC series, skipped 1 b/c I heard it was bad but just found AC2 to be pretty boring and "safe". Lost interest kinda quickly with it, think I would've preferred a more linear, less freeroaming puzzle platformer like the POP series.

I'm surprised - I couldn't find it either. One of the private trackers probably has it though, like bitgamer.

Anyway, first credit back on DS after spending a couple days in training mode:

Soooo close :(

I screwed lots of stuff up though, I should be able to get 320-340m on a good run.

just played through like 2/3'rds of Outland in one sitting, the game is awesome. I'm pretty sure Metroid style 2d action adventures are my favourite genre ever. I mean holy shit they are fun. The Ikaruga shit mixed with the platforming makes for some interesting gameplay. The game would have been worth 800MSP, so I'm stoked I got it for 400. Woohoo.

the 200/200 is easy too, for some reason the TA ration is kinda high, guess people just blow at platformers

pretty much. There are several co-op stages to unlock, but you only need to complete one for an achievement, and apparently the first co-op room takes less than 2 minutes to complete. No local co-op though, which sucks. Since the game was just on sale it should (hopefully) be easy to find someone to boost it with, and it's a 2 minute boost so it shouldn't be a pita. The other 11 achievements are obtainable in single player.

the last stages in Super Meat Boy get fucking ridiculous, you gotta be mad pro to beat Cotton Alley Dark World stages

did you get the freeflow 2.0 achievement? Getting that is pretty good training for high scoring campaign runs. The campaigns can be VERY rough. I'd like to get back to them and knock them out someday. I'll still pissed I forked out for all the DLC, then my Batman disc stops working. grr

that's how i felt playing it.  it's such a by-the-book open world game that it never feels the slightest bit engaging or fun, but you still keep playing because the formula reminds you of going through better games.  the instant the credits rolled i turned it off and never looked back.

That's so weird, I really liked it. I never felt utterly overwhelmed by any of the battles, but I enjoyed them. I liked cruising around on the train tracks, and the rail/jump/glide/skid movement was very satisfying.

Oddly, so many comparisons were made between inFamous and PROTOTYPE, I was really hopeful when playing the latter, but I had less fun overall.

the powers were the most interesting part, of course, but the map was lifeless and the a.i. and combat felt braindead, and the story and acting were SO BAD that it made me hate the missions a little.  also the games main side-quest, the territory grabbing part, was so repetitive but i felt compelled to do it because randomly spawning enemies.

I remember enjoying the game somewhat, then giant hologram fucks on the third island ripped me a new one, and getting around was impossible. Good game, but ability/difficulty balancing is waaaaaay off, and collectible finding mechanisims are bad. Not as bad as Crackdown, but close. I enjoyed the tense soundtrack.

I think that the issue is that up to a point, the game is perfectly fine with you just using your little baby zapper to get shit done, but then it suddenly turns on you without much of a ramp up.  I realized that using the rockets and grenades while draining whatever electricity I could find when i could find it was the way to go.  I think i'm a bit more than half way done.  I borrowed this from a friend so I'm somewhat eager to get it back to him.

Story is fuck awful though.
