From Dust

I wish there was just some kind of endless dick around mode from the get go. How they didn't add this to this game is beyond me. I heard that you can unlock it if you finish the SP, thats really shoddy game design. This is a god game, the SP should be optional just to god mode.

100 hours into Skyrim and I think I'm running out of steam, but nowhere near running out of content.
i'm the arch-mage of the magician's college
i have the option of being a werewolf w/ the companions (but i'm passing on that)
i'm about to take the final fort on the side of the stormcloaks
i'm in the bard colleges

i'm level 33 still heavy on Destruction and One Handed though the enemies being thrown against me are just really obnoxious more so than anything else.  Ancient dragons that can one shot me?  fuck you, game.  It's worse than the Deathstalkers in Vegas.

a lot of building up the crafting skills just seems like unnecessary busy work and a  time / money sink so i'm ignoring it for now or will probably end up just coding my way to the top of that pile.

Doesn't seem too hard to get all S-Ranks with Sonic Generations so the game is still sucking up my time. The Green Hill Zone in under 1 min achievement seems like a real PITA to get so fuck that one. I'll be happy with something like 950/1000 with this game. I also beat Binary Domain but missed a lot of achievements, I'm thinking of just going through real quickly on Easy to max out all my loyalties and get all the Nanomachines in one go.

Through on RE4 for a minute to play the opening part and that turned into 4 hours, playing up to getting Ashley.   and however 8 years later, I think I finally found every single last thing you can pick up in the first part of the village.  Also learned all the boxes respawn at night.   this game man, this game doesn't stop giving.  I've already forgotten all the TPS that poorly humped RE4's leg this gen.

I recently finished a playthrough on that difficulty and I had a lot of fun overcoming the learning curve. To get extra practice I'd reset the game every time I triggered an alert. I was feeling pretty cocky about my stealth skills until the part where you lose all your gear, that shit was :whew

Bro I was going in for a no alert playthrough initially as well. But found out that resetting and reloading the game takes soo much time on the HD Collection for the PSV that I just said fuck it. You have to go through the entire opening logos and videos before you can reload. So now I'm just gonna collect the kerotans for the stealth camo. And I'm doing the no-kill thing as well. Also I have quite a hard time being stealth at times, I give less and less shits about being caught as I progress cause the game is too stressful.

I know what you mean. Resetting on PS2 involves trudging through the intro videos as well, but I felt like that time was useful for rethinking my approach and what exactly I did wrong. Joke was on me though because I still somehow finished the game with alerts on record, so no stealth camo for me :'(

Is there any particular part of the sneaking that you find difficult? I remember the enemy AI's adept sense of hearing gave me trouble early on.

I was doing really well until I got to that dock outside of the warehouse and I kept screwing up there. There are too many guards stationed there and finding a way to get out of the water and remaining unseen proved to be too difficult for me and I gave up on my strict discipline. I was caught so many times there and in the warehouse itself as well. It's really really challenging to remain unseen or unheard when the enemy's vision is really good and the spaces are too confined. And I was avoiding using the tranq gun up until then because it's such a cheap way to play the game.
Don't you hate that sinking feeling when everything is quiet and you're doing your best and you suddenly hear that 'Huh?'. It's such an oohhh fuck moment where you start to panic.

Without the tranq gun, I imagine it's very difficult. You can shoot them with it when you're in the water, and that's how I got in.

Yeah, I got flashbacks of it by reading this. Playing through MGS3 properly totally alienated me from the folk who don't consider MGS a stealth series.

I was so ambitious when I started this game up. I was gonna go for a no alert, no kill, no tranq, true sneaking run but it's too difficult and no easy reload didn't help either. Why couldn't they put a load menu in the start menu? shit like this frustrates me to no end. How can the developers be so dumb?

I really wanted to play through the game without using the gun once though. I had the desire to sneak my way to the end.

Seriously, I too have several moments where I catch myself thinking 'this is definitely a stealth game'
Are there any other things you noticed that were remarkable in your playthrough?

Yeah, I feel you on the lack of a load menu. Kojima probably doesn't care too much for the people who play his games strictly for the stealth mechanics. I would've really loved VR missions in MGS3, though they would've had to be much more complex than the ones from 2.

As far as noteworthy moments, everything about the fight with The End. It's such a brilliantly designed battle. When he's aiming at you, the sunlight reflecting off his sniper scope will show you where to aim. Capturing and releasing his parrot will reveal his location as well. The weather changes throughout the fight and I love how you have three zones to stalk one another in. I still haven't successfully gotten his camo. There was one time I snuck up to him with the shotgun and got him to drop it, but before I could move he tossed a stun grenade and picked his camo back up. I was pissed. I kept the save right before his fight on a separate file so I can go back and play around in it whenever I feel like.

I know you're playing the HD collection, but did you ever play MGS3 when Metal Gear Online was still up? If you found the right person to play with, I get the feeling you would've loved it.

Which Dynasty Warriors is best and is 7 good?

Warriors Orochi 3 is the best Musou game. Samurai warriors 2 is also great but you may not like it as it is slow. It has been in my 360 for the better part of 8 months. DW7 is great but very flawed and the only good mode is story mode so it is content barren. Wait for DW8 and play story co-op with the rest of am us at musou bore when the game drops on ps3 this summer or play Warriors Orochi 3 as I doubt DW8 will be better.

There's also Sengoku Basara 3 for ps3. DW is more rts and strategy take mixed with beat em up, Basara is all about more and more action.

MGS3 is too slow. But the stealth is amazing. I just can't replay it a lot like I can other MGS titles. Shame because 4 mechanics ironed out 3's issues but there's so little stealth who gives a shit.

Allso people who dont think mgs are stealth games haven't played mgs3 period or mgs1 and 2 on  hard or extreme.

Not really. Ferris Bueller is my favorite movie to watch but I don't think it is the best movie I've seen. However it is up there. I'd say it makes less sense to always consider the best your favorite. I think Street Fighter III is the best SF in terms of mechanics but I'd rather player IV for instance. I think Dracula X is the best CV but SotN is my favorite. Acknowledging something is the best doesn't make it your favorite. ???

To me that's just being objective.

I'd have no problem calling RE4 best ever.   I'm too lazy to think of or argue anything else and that's one game that no flaws come immediately to mind.   like, none at all.

Best hard mode I've seen. Doesn't make enemies bullet sponges or anything simply gives you far less ammo to work with forcing you to play entirely differently and in a tactful manner, amazing pacing, best boss fights, best use of qte, hilarious dialogue, ominous atmosphere, tactical arrangement of load out and customization, multiple ways to play it, mercenaries mode, all the unlockables...fuck.

The one flaw with RE4 is Operation Ada as it kinda sucks.

Going from RE4 to 5 to 6 is enough to make someone weep. Best game ever (4) to goty status (5) which is still pretty good to holy shit this is bad, I'm not buying this (6).

every time i replay re4 i come across rooms that i forgot existed. it blows me away that they made such a huge variety of maps and damn near every one has some kind of unique hook that can jolt your memory the second you see it. even the "throwaway" rooms where you fight a few waves of ganados are more interesting than most games best maps. :whew
