Just started playing....

:D

I'm liking it so far. With classic controls, it's not so bad.

I updated my psp to 5.50 gen-b and the game won't work.  Is there something else I need to do?

geez, forgot you need to have a umd in there.  it's been a while.

Hmmmm, I've never had to put a UMD in my PSP to get em to work before. That's weird!

What do you think of it so far? Game rocks!

Final boss of dqix.  Final dungeon is real good.  Most of the dungeons in the game are really good.  Best part of the game for sure.

Final Fantasy Dissidia. It leaked today. Oh god so awesome all over my face.

seriously? American version?

can you play it on a PSP-2000 with 5.00 cfw? I'm still buying the game when it comes out, but I'm going taking off for Germany on Sunday.  I was hoping it would leak early so I can get some time with it on the plane, then come home and continue on my newer non-CFW 3000.

Yessir, American version. I'm playing it on my PSP-3000 with CFW right now. It should work just fine for you!

I updated my psp to 5.50 gen-b and the game won't work.  Is there something else I need to do?

geez, forgot you need to have a umd in there.  it's been a while.

actually u dont have to do that with M33 CFW as their was an option to pick the  "M33 driver"  and it allows you to play it without a umd in there.

Not sure if the gen-b firmware has it though.

You can check by pressing the select button while on the XMB and some menu options should popup, go to the one called "umd iso mode" then select "M33 driver" (or a possibly different name?)

While on topic i'm playing crisis core.

Just became First Class and reached the mako reactor.

The game's ok so far and the battle system is like a slightly streamlined version of the Kingdom Hearts system (mainly the first one).  What sets it apart is the DMW.

And yes i've seen the infamous Genesis with his countless Loveless quotes.

What am I missing about Dissidia?  I am not a Final Fantasy fan by any means, so all the fan service stuff is lost on me.  As a fighting game, it felt like it lacked any kind of depth and almost plays itself.

Have you played Phantom Dust?  It's like that.  It's all about arranging your deck (or in Dissidia's case your character slots).  At the start when you don't have many moves/abilities the fighting is shallow.  When you have dozens of attacks/abilities and can only choose a handful to bring into battle the game gets hardcore strategic and the combat matchups are limitless.  Note that the AI sucks, so 1p is only as satisfying as beating on a dumb cpu can ever be in a fighting game.  I think it's a deeper and better made fighter than a lot of snk/arc fighters :)

15 years later and I've finished Final Fantasy 6!   I've started and put it down a couple times since it launched on the SNES way back when.  It's been my "been meaning to finish this..." game for that whole time!

Just beat the GBA version.  The Warring Triad, boss before Kefka, Kefka, and Behemoth sprites have to be some of the best ever made. Especially that mountain thing before Kefka.  JESUS.  And the music is just incredible.  Definitely the best chip based OST of all time, in terms of quantity and quality of the songs.  At about 25 hours I had everyone up to level 50 or so, so the fights were completely broken for my last few hours (Ultima + Celestriad + GoGo ftw), but it was worth it to go through that whole end game.  My only complaint is that the dialogue portraits in the GBA version are weird.  Transformed Terra's portrait is especially distinguished mentally-challenged.

Pretty damn amazing what they accomplished on the SNES.

Really digging Shadow Complex at the moment. The game has its issues, but the awesome totally outweighs the odd stumble. Hoping to see lots more from this developer in the future, and I wouldn't mind if it stayed in this "2.5D" format.

Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete, which I bought from Lyte a few months ago in amazing condition at a great price. :bow Lyte :bow2

I love these oldskool WD style translations filled with lots of cheesy jokes, really adds character. Game suffers a bit with load times but it's still a blast.

Snatcher- Baby, I've become a junker.

Ufouria- Pretty dang good Metroid-esque game from the NES era that was never released in the USA.

Shadow Complex- Enjoying this immensely.

Disgaea 3- Had this in the plastic for a long time and finally broke it out. I skipped part 2 so it's interesting to see all the additions they've made to the gameplay since the first one.

Fairy Attackers- A meh Japanese side scrolling adventure indie game. Probably won't continue on much further with this.

KoF98UM XBLA- My fighting game of choice for these past few weeks.

I got Diablo II today. Started the game as a Paladin.

I just finished quest 2. Had to fight agains a boss who could resurrect the dead.

The game is good, but the lack of inventory space is killing the game for me. The character can hold way to few items. And the amount of items you can stash is a joke.

Isn't this supposed to be a loot game? What's up with the shitty confined invetory system urgh...

yeah the inventory size sucks, specially when armors/weapons most of the time take a lot of slots. I usually just have a scroll of town warp or whatever,  and just warp back to town whenever my inventory is full and there's an item I want lying in the ground.

Apparently there's a patch coming that lets you respec skills? That'd be so hot!

IIRC you get a new phone with the same sized text but additional features. You can also buy wallpapers and ringtones for the phone through the game's web browsers (tw@t shops, and later cribs).

Why are there so little guns hidden around the city in gta4? This is the problem of gta since SA, there is nothing to find in the whole wide world. Everything is in stores. There is nothing in the allies or the rooftops. I'm also having a bit problem with money. I'm doing missions for Faustin now and I only got like a grand in cash. What are some good ways to get cash?

Tales of Vesperia - Really enjoying this, the story isn't so hot but the combat is fun and I like the visuals.

Do taxi missions, ambulance missions, or pizza delivery for extra cash. Oh, wait, no... they took those out for IV.  :maf I know! Do the drug trading game, because that nets you mad cash, is fun to  play, has varied gameplay, and gets you a new outfit when you finish it. Oh... sorry, no; that was Vice City Stories, only.

The alleys are as empty as you suspect. If you want to find stuff in the current Liberty City's alleys, buy Chinatown Wars on the DS.

In GTA IV, there is a bulletproof armor right near your initial base, but getting there is a huge PITA until you get really comfortable with the controls. Use youtube to lookup armor locations, mark them on your map, and take an insta-cab ride to them instead. That gives you armor before the game unlocks it in stores, and saves you half a G even after it becomes available for purchase.

There's a rocket launcher on a rock off the north shore of the center island. You have to swim to get to it, but it becomes available LONG before the story lets you buy one.

Titan Quest and its expansion.  I've always been meaning to get around to that and Sacred 2 but I balked at picking up Sacred 2 because of the 20 gig hard drive space needed.  20 freaking gigs?  For Sacred 2?  No thank you.

Anyway, Titan Quest is pretty sweet.  The last game like this I played was Dungeon Siege 2, and god only knows when that was.

Well yeah but I'm under a hundred on my 700 GB.  I'm not willing to part with 20% of it for Sacred 2.  And while I do have a separate 1TB drive for data/PVR stuff but I'm too freakin' lazy right now to be bothered to spool some of the crap off my main HD to the satellite.

I still say that 20GB HD space for a game, one that isn't even a MMORPG, is asking way too much computer realestate.

I beat Super Mario RPG last week on an emulator. Actually a pretty quick game, I thought it was a lot longer from what I remember. All you need is the Lazy Shell to set up everything, then a couple of Jinx Belt/Amulet/Quartz Charm and you can pretty much beat the game. And some frog coins to get a double experience booster thingy to level up quicker. This and Paper Mario are the only two RPG's I could ever play. I spent like fucking half an hour beating that Culex guy though, since I didn't wait around to level up a lot before trying to beat him. Almost half an hour straight of using Princess' revive since like almost any move killed one of Mario or Bowser. Eventually I killed the crystals one at a time so they didn't attack as much, and when I got to like two crystals left, they ran completely out of FP so they couldn't attack, and killed em. Classic game though, it goes a lot faster if you ignore all the unnecessary side crap. I had all this rock candy and I ended up not even using it on Smithy, or much of any items.

NP. I actually enjoyed and remember most everything about the game; I can't remember how I ended up with more money than I needed, but I definitely didn't feel pressured for . I just wish they'd left the side-mission (R3 Missions) in from the GTA III series.

Here's your armor tutorial, you lazy bastard:

What n64 controller has an analog stick that survived?  I had to replay starfox/mario64 with either:
a) a limp dick stick
b) a slightly less limp dick stick with the thumb pad snapped off. Both had their wells well worn out too.

The mario 64 replay was worth it though.

Playing Final Fantasy X Starring Meg Ryan.  This game is actually better than I remembered--gameplay and story wise.  Aside from some odd graphic hiccups, it also looks freaking great for such an old game.
