Marching through dqix, might finish it this week if I really try. Game is only about 30-35 hours long if you don't get distracted. I'm like 60% in at 17 hours. The short stories are nice and so are the dungeons, but it's the 2nd slowest dq after viii and it has the worst gameplay systems of any dq I've played. It's like instead of creating some cool new systems or just keeping it super simple, they thought they'd throw a form of every gameplay system from previous dqs (except monster collecting) in and be like "look how many systems we have!". Except now they almost all feel useless and the gameplay feels completely uninteresting. Thankfully there's still a huge enemy variety and they're all well animated. But no cast so no party talk just makes the experience duller. No monster collecting and slooooooow homemade generic character skill progression is dull as well. It's fun, but totally 7-8/10ish so far. Hope it picks up at the end. Otherwise it's disappointment of the year so far.
Tried to play some more blazblue story mode. I realized that some characters are just not fun to use against the computer because they take forever to win a round with. Noteably Rachael. I love using her and playing traps against friends, but going through the cpu campaign with her is sooooo boring.
Also tried a bunch of demos:
-Katamari PS3 = nice filter but camera is shit and game is pointless
-Vesperia PS3 = nice port, pirate girl is alright; never want to play this game again
-Trials = fun, but don't want to pay $15; would buy at $10
-'Splosion Man = ok, didn't really grab me enough to buy
-TMNT remake = lolz, couldn't stand the framerate and controls
