Got a new Arcade 360 so I'm picking up where I left off. Started playing Silent Hill: Homecoming and just finished the first major boss. Not a bad game so far, but it looks like a Wii game and runs poorly too :-\

Other than that I'm still playing some Raiden IV while waiting for Mushi Futari. On a good run I can make it up to the final boss in Arcade mode on one credit, but he is a tough som'bitch. Xbox 360 mode has two extra stages so I'm probably never going to 1CC that. And then the game has a second loop...

Played a few matches online in Tekken 6 just to check out the online patch and it looks like Namco came through  :o :o :o It's too bad they shipped the game with awful online play; I'm sure that caused some bad word-of-mouth...

Was looking to finish Fallout 3 as well, but no online rental service that I know of has the GotY disc in so I can get all that overpriced DLC. And of course no one has AC2 in either  :maf

Is this game any good? I hadn't heard of it until Atlus posted some videos of the XBLA version on their YouTube channel the other day. Pretty strange looking game.

It's a fairly simple and straightforward game in terms of progression, basically just A to B with some enemies in your way. But, it's got really deep first-person hand-to-hand combat. It's $5 on Steam right now and well worth that small price.

Warriors Orochi 2 (360) - Not really feeling this one.  The DVD drive continues to slow down.  It takes about 10 minutes from putting in the disc to having it load up.  By that time, I kind of lose motivation to play anything.

I do have Lost Odyssey waiting for me.  I'll play it when I pick it up.  I'm going to catass it this weekend.

It's the worst part in the game.  It's also one of the worst designed sliding block puzzles ever.  And no reset button is ridiculous.

I had to walk out of the house, down the street, to the next LOADING AREA, then walk back to the attic where the puzzle had been reset, grab a faq, follow it step by step, beat puzzle.

Yeah. Fuck that puzzle.

Samurai Warriors 3.  Finished new character Takenaka Hanbei's campaign.  He was pretty fun to play as and uses a bladed shield as his weapon.  After I cleared his game, I unlocked Nene and Maeda Toshiie (Kanazawa represent!), but the latter has no campaign mode of his own.   :'(

They won't fix it for free and since I've only owned it for a year, it's bullshit that I need to pay a three digit sum so they can fix a part that most likely costs a couple of bucks.  Installing doesn't help because the problem seems to be that the disc needs to boot up.  After that, the loading is fine.  I usually just keep browsing on my laptop, hitting "A" whenever the 360 says "open tray" until it loads up.  Not a big deal but this kills impulse gaming.

I haven't done the heating trick but whenever I do load up a 360 game, I keep it on for stretches of time if I feel like playing it again in an hour or two.  It's a Falcon at the tail end of its run so I expect the RROD is inevitable here.

I will intentionally heat it if the 360 DVD drive quits altogether, which might happen here soon enough.

SO GOOD
I'm stunned to hear it's running. I recall it used an early version of DirectX (maybe the first?) and any subsequent versions of it seemed to have trouble running the game. I'm still tempted to buy Skullmonkeys but it's too expensive -and- too freakin' hard.

Batman AA is so good.  It out Metroids every Metroid this decade.
That's what I'm playing tonight as well. Friend sent me his PS3 copy. Fun combat is fun; it's more like a rhythm game than combat... but it does make Bats look like a total badass.

I don't know, FF12 seemed pretty freaking great until somewhere around the sand sea then I started to become less and less interested in it.  By the time the end rolled around I just couldn't give two shits about the game.  You can definitely tell that Square was rushing the title out to meet their deadline and/or they ran out of money.  IMO there needs to be a director's cut of the game because it seems to be missing huge chunks of the story.

But that's just me talking.

This is why I hate 12, everyone does everything, no individuality. I would replay this International version if it makes the characters more unique.

That's a pretty good summation. I am in the minority that actually liked the game, but like you said it wore its welcome and became a chore to finish. The story devolved, but I don't want to get too much into it since Borys hasn't finished. But let me just say that I started rolling my eyes at the story when you get to Cid. I still really liked the license system and I didn't even mind the auto/gambit battle system.

Supposedly that could be the point where the actual director (the same dude who did Vagrant Story) left (some say he was extremely burnt out) and the team had to finish it without him.

Matsuno didn't leave.  He was murdered by SquareEnix and subsequently revived as a zombie to appear in an early Wii promo video.

Similar thing just happened with FFXIII.  The battle system was made by the guy who did the FFX battle system.  Then SE didn't like it and they murdered him.  Now the battle system is by some dude who worked on KHII battle system.

FF is serious business.  Fuck up something and you get a shiv in the back.

here is a better description
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/939426/49691
Quote
Shortly after accepting Rogue Tomato hunt from Tomaj, you can start tinkering
with learning the licenses in order to improve your chrs. But what's that...
instead of one big LB there are *twelve* LB! Each LB represents a job in Zodiac
Job System (also note that shape of each LB is roughly the same as respective
zodiac sign).

The jobs at your disposal are: white mage, dragoon, machinist, red mage,
knight, monk, time mage, breaker, archer, black mage, samurai and thief.

Once you choose a job, *you cannot change it*! This is very important to take
into consideration, so think twice before choosing a job. Of course, you can
choose not to select any job and play the game that way, but it'll be extremely
challenging and you'll be missing out on bonuses from jobs.

You will see many "island squares" on each LB. "Bridges" that will connect LB
with these squares appear as you acquire espers. Again, you will need to
carefully consider who you will get to become a summoner with which esper -
once you select the esper license, same license disappears from others' LB.

I never played XII international and honestly I have no interest in ever doing so because there are no story fixes and that is the main problem of XII.

But the gameplay fixes sound excellent.  If they had actually fixed the story as well it could've been the real FFXII and they could've even released it in the west.

I finished Secret of Evermore a while ago. Got tired of Golden Sun, but I'll probably pick it back up eventually.

Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics v1.3. Tweaked items, skillsets, abilities, and difficulty. It's basically FFT for people that don't suck big fat cock at video games. Seriously though, it's surprisingly well done. The steeper learning curve and various modifications make the gameplay novel enough (especially if you're one of those people that always griped about how the original was easymode scrub trash), and there's none of the obnoxiously shitty changes (like new jobs, new sprites, new storyline) that typically ail these fan-made revamps.

Anyway, I'm about halfway through Chapter 1. It's pretty sweet so far.

tried out the WET demo.  wow, fucking horrible.  you basically can't shoot people without being in bullet time because the control is so wonky.   Max Payne is still king, apparently.

the best part was when that crazy red filter came on and you could run freely and chop the shit out of people.  They should've taken that, made it the whole game, added a bunch of more moves, a couple different weapon sets, put guns on all of her limbs, turned her into a witch, and handed the game over to Platinum Games.

Started playing some Mask of the Betrayer, although I still haven't beaten NWN2 thanks to a game-breaking bug that I came across about 10-12 hours in.

I've noticed that MotB has this weird glitch where the on-screen text in cutscenes flashes by before I can read, almost like some kind of auto-skip function has been turned on. I can't figure it out and it's kind of annoying.
