Reviews are all over the place for the flick. I've read that it is the worst film ever made and that it is so awesome your balls will fall off. Years from now, like Bad Boys 2, it will be revered as a classic!

If remember right the Autobots assemble an hour in, the Decepticons assemble 1.5 hours in and then you have a few minutes of fighting at the end.

The first 45 minutes of the film could have easily been jettisoned.

I know what you're saying Green Man, but the human to robot imbalance was just beyond ridiculous.

Actually, if that's all that Transformers was, I would probably enjoy it a lot more than I do. Sadly, it isn't. Because for every robot fight we get five long scenes of Sam's parents being mind-numbingly stupid, a government agent getting peed on, Jon Voight chasing a tiny robot inside a warehouse, blatant product placement, or paragraphs of pointless dialogue. And in the actual action scenes it's hard to see what's happening in the action scenes and they're inter-spliced with soldiers talking to someone at an Indian call center or whatever.

Yeah but the action isn't even fun. It's badly choreographed, shot and edited.

Seriously - it feels like a series of high-budget, no sense, 'Power Rangers' style giant boss fights.

Yeah, the action scenes were awesome. Kinda. But they were barely a third of the movie. Maybe if that other two-thirds of movie had actually had at least some redeeming qualities, I would be interested in seeing a sequel that did the same kind of thing. As it stands, there's no point at all. If I want to see robots bashing at each other I'll just pop in Transformers 1 and bypass all the scenes with talking.
