I have not heard of anyone else's console freezing, it just sounds like you have RROD issues incoming.
Bullshit, some gaffer's console did the same thing. Not that it couldn't be an incoming RROD, which is entirely possible. I would say that's unlikely though as only a few games have ever froze on my console

anyone got a spare 48 hour gold trial so I can buy this off of my US profile?

It won't let me buy it on silver - probably 'cause it's a multiplayer only game.

Played the trial, didn't have that big of a lag issue. Quite fun.

Wait, one other person's console did the SAME thing?  It's an epidemic!

... again, sounds like you guys have typical RROD issues incoming (someone else having RROD problems - impossible!).  There has been real reports of freezing or bugs, just that EA couldn't get their ass together in terms of setting up adequate servers for demand.

You won't believe how many times I heard this at GameStop when I told people it was RROD trouble brewing.  Then they'd come back a week later with a busted unit. :lol

I have one at home that came with Fight Night R4 I will give you. But I won't be able to get it until around 6PM EST when I get home from work.

But honestly, maybe its just me, but every EA game i've played online has always been laggy as hell where other games work fine. I'd just always assumed EA's dedicated servers were really shitty.

I don't know how I was able to join the server in the first place. I sat here spamming A button for 10 mintues and it finally put me in a game 8)

played until the trial ended (2 games I think) and it's a lot fun; I'll wait for the PC version.  Controls are better than Bad Company, but they still don't let you change them enough to become comfortable (for me).  They have the option to walk using the right stick, but I can't make accelerate the right trigger for ground vehicles? still, they let you do it for the planes? wtf? the planes control are more complicated than they need to be, like, you can't even reverse anymore; they just have just copied Crimson Skies or Warhawk.  And in general I'm shit when using dual analog.

The game changes from 1942 seem fine to me.  I mean, I played a lot of 1942 (1942 and 2 are my favorite multiplayer games) and the charm is still there with it all streamlined.  The one thing I don't get is the sniper load out.  It's the class that has the det packs, yet it is only good at far range since it only has a sniper and pistol.  They should have given the sniper a gimped Thompson and the Engineer (or support, whatever it is now) the BAR.  And the bombing planes are pretty awesome.  That seems like the best addition.

The graphics upgrade is ok.  The water and destructible environments are the only two things that really stand out.  It has pretty bad aliasing if you look out in the distance.

and no real lag in the two games.  Seems to run fine despite whatever problems there were.

Can't get into a game to save my life.  I even joined a 16-player private match with lyte, where we literally had to get 16 separate players to join before searching for a game - which ultimately failed.

I couldn't even join your party.   :'(  XBL was kinda fucked up for me this afternoon.  Gonna try again this evening.

I hope EA patches the private game player limit, because REQUIRING 14 people in a game before you can start it is all kinds of stupid.'

Tried the tutorial out; it seems pretty cool.  Looking forward to playing it when the game actually starts WORKING.   :lol

Uhhh, did they take it off the MP? I can't find it anywhere.

Get it or the demo version off of XBox.com.  It doesn't seem to be on Live yet.

also, once it launches the endless "searching for games" screen you can't back out of it - you actually have to quit to the dashboard and restart the game

Eel, I recommend taking a look at my friends list or the NeoGAF friends list and joining from there.  It's pretty easy joining off a friend - Quick Match is still busted.

Once in, it's bliss.  It really is great.  I think I just spent over 60 minutes playing, with no problems.  Battlefield is like crack.  This is the best version of the gameplay style for consoles.

I was able to get into a server this morning after 10 or so tries. When you get into a lag free game with even teams, it is really fun. I was able to put together a couple of games as a sniper where I had 13 or so kills and 0 deaths. I would just camp a few spots and lay out some explosives on the nearest road. When an enemy tank or jeep comes by....BOOM :lol

I wish there were map voting or veto or something. We played one of the maps like five times in a row before it finally switched.

Does anyone know if there is any tangible effect from the stamps that you earn? (e.g. "sniper efficiency")

played the PS3 demo, because I wanted to try more of the game and the 360 trial ran out, and now I really want to buy it for 360.  I guess it clicked for me or whatever, at least the plane controls did.

I was getting headshots from while doing swooping runs

btw, I still don't get the problems are having with the game.  On the 360, I played two games and only had to try and connect twice.  On the PS3, I connected first time.  The four games I played were smooth and lag free.

fffffffffffff

I've had some bullshit deaths in this game, and it just feels inconsistent. First of all, why is it that enemies only sometimes appear on your radar? I thought it had to do with crouching, but that does not appear to be it as even vehicles have even not shown up on radar. Also, the counter seems to be off. I just got out of a game in which we help all the cap points for a good 10 minutes from the start of the game, and out meter was at the same length as theirs  :maf

I spawned at one of our flag locations and sprinted toward the Air Raid building. I go up to the door and try to get in, but I can't. My reticle is white, which means that there isn't a teammate using it right now. The 3 airplanes were showing on my map, so it was ready to be used. I am standing there getting all pissed off that I can't use it when a fucking jap comes out and shoots me in the face. wtf. I laughed, but I had to turn it off before I put my fist through the wall  :maf
