I thought Sonnen clearly won. I mean it was a bad performance for him too but he did enough to win it in a wrestle fuck kind of way.

I mean Bisping performed better than most people thought he would especially in the first two rounds but still I thought Sonnen easily won the third even if the first two rounds were split.

By the way, after all this time in Japan, this was my first UFC event seen on an American TV at something close to live broadcast. I was at a bar in San Jose mid-town, enjoying a pint of Doublejack and some cajun sausage. (AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!)

It wasn't live, was it? It didn't show "LIVE" anywhere on the screen. t was watching on the west coast, and it was in IL, right?

pretty sure Fox showed it live across the USA, since they're treating it as a sporting event and not staggering it.

Sweet! Then I've seen my first UFC live event, in a bar, with good beer, and good friends. Only one other table seemed to be paying attention, but even they left before the final fight.

What the hell was a "title eliminator" match? I thought Rashad was the champ, because it was 5-rounds... but it wasn't even an interim champ match?

As of the Shogun-Hendo fight last year, the UFC has decided that the main event for all PPV and Fox cards will be 5-rounds, even if a non-title fight.

Thankfully the rescinded that for the FX/Fuel shows. No one wants to see Alves v Kampmann for 5 rounds.

Utterly boring fight but Condit won it. If Diaz wasn't a lunkhead and so macho about his fighting style I actually think he could have easily won it. But he's too "cool" to chase or try to take somebody down to the ground.

Wow, I thought that it was orgasmic. I believe I just discovered my gag reflex for mma fights, had to pause it after the first round and do something else for a while. I just couldn't take it in, it was too much for me.

It was as if the main event of a ufc card has been changed into a bullfighting event in the ufc octagon.

Now here is my rant about the whole thing, which is not a response to you or your comment:

Diaz is a crazy mother fucker and I have nothing but respect for him. When Diaz says what he really thinks about this scoring system he is called a goof, a whiner, a baby, an angry girlfriend, a bad loser, crying like a little bitch so on and so on.. But when Dana white swears and calls reporters fegs, hardcore fans idiots, internet users no-lifers and compares script kids with 9/11 terrorist attackers people look up to him and praise his alpha fat ass for having the courage to tweet.

I have nothing against leg kicks and I am not underestimating them or their importance in the sport of mma, but you gotta admit that sometimes they are just like the take downs that can give a fighter a whole round although aside from some wrinkling on the opponents shorts do nothing.

He basically said what everyone thinks when the scoring system doesn't favour them. So whatever, the cocksuckers will continue to act like little bitches to get to sit on Dana's lap for some free tickets on twitter.

There is an element of ''alphaness'' to mma, it's celebrated by both ufc as an organization and it's fans alike, it's celebration and presence in advertising is what helps its growth as a spot in todays media and it is reflected in everything they do from weigh-ins, prime-times, commercials, commentaries, highlights to t-shirts and posters. We were all promised a crazy slug fight and Diaz delivered what he promised even though Condit came in prepared for a chess match and treated the fight as such.

To Diaz, he mentally made Condit his little bitch all 5 rounds, something that most mma fans do enjoy on this level of competitiveness and is the kind of crap that Dana white would gobble day and night to sell fights, Diaz didn't even try to avoid anything that Condit brought to the fight meanwhile Condit has been running with his heels up his ass every time Diaz reached him. Not smart of Diaz, but it is still damn impressive and entertaining and if he would have won, which he was very close to, everyone would be standing in line to suck his dick.

In the beginning of the last round, we see Diaz attempt the winning a round by points from leg kicks and it worked until he shortly chose to abandon it. It is just not him and not the way he would want to win. He has a passion for fighting and vision of winning and it is not by doing what he is told to do like an adult actress.

The reason White is intimidated by Diaz is because he can run his mouth and act with no regard to what others think of him which is probably the only thing that makes Dana stand out as a promoter. It is as if every single aspect of a fighter, his life and personality and even craziness will be celebrated in every way possible in the UFC as long as it does not step on it's feet or comes in the way of Dana.

Fuck you Dana, fuck you and fuck your doughnut gobbling prostate licking smughole.

The fighters generally hate to leave anything in the hands of the judges, even the ones who usually win by decision. They never have a clear idea of who has won, when they go to a decision. You can see so many fights which were clearly one-sided, and yet the loser will raise his hands, thinking he's won -- or in many cases the winner will be going back to his corner, frustrated that he's lost (or maybe just that a longed-for stoppage was unattainable).

I haven's seen the Diaz/Condit fight yet, so I won't talk out of my ass about it, but Diaz is truly a fireball, and sometimes that doesn't work. If he was unable to adapt to the game Condit brought, then Condit has managed to "impose his will" on Diaz, and maybe it is time for Diaz to evolve or get out.

I just showed the fight to my dad and my younger brother, they both have seen an mma match or two before but are not really fans of the sport. They watch more K1 on Eurosport but they found this one really entertaining and where fully engaged in conversations about the fight and how it ended.

My thoughts on the fight was that it was very boring and I was very excited before it coming into it. It had two fatal flaws.

Condit decided to employ a very boring Greg Jackson style let's turn this into a technical olympic style scoring event. I can't blame him for doing it but its not something I like watching or find entertaining. It's basically the same reason I don't like watching Rashad evans fights. It's not why I watch MMA. I'm not some lunkhead who needs every fight to be a  knockout in the first round but I'm also not a fan of a light leg kicking exhibition for 5 rounds.

The second fatal flaw is that while I really love watching Diaz fight, he has become a slave to his style. Sort of the same way that a lot of good stand up fighters become a slave to their style. If Condit isn't going to stand there and fight with you then fucking chase him or fucking grapple him. You have to make it obvious that you are the fighter and the other dude is just running away. Diaz refused to do it. He just stalked him around the 5 ring for 5 rounds and taunted. Which is more "manly" I guess but its a fucking sport and you gotta do what you gotta do to win a fight.

Condit gains very few fans with a win like that. The only bright side is that he won't be able to do that against GSP.

Also I think I was in a crabby mood in general last night because a lot of the usual stuff that always happens and never bothers me was annoying me last night.

Especially Rogan and Goldberg. I'm so tired of the way they feel they have to hype up every fight by lying about the fighters. ex. This guy has amazing ju-jitsu and amazing striking and amazing blah blah. Not he fucking doesn't. Most MMA fighters have one thing they do really well. They are utterly average in other categories. That's what makes the elite fighters so special is that they actually are good at a few things. I don't have to be told that every matchup is two Superman going at each other.

Also the pre fight hype talk each fighter does is laughable. They say stuff like I'm going to rip off his head and shit down his neck before the fight. And then we get a final fight like that.

Not a barn burner, of course, but I enjoyed the drama of Condit clowning Diaz for five rounds.

Good fight card and I love the Japanese MMA crowd. Good title fight. A lot of technical skill shown.

Rampage is done as an elite fighter if it wasn't already obvious before.

Frankie should probably drop down a weight class. He is a tiny lightweight.

So when is the scam that testosterone-replacement therapy will be banned in MMA going to happen?

Oh never. Carry on.

And not a diss at Rampage. Everyone is using it. What a scientific phenomenon that MMA fighters all have low testosterone levels.

This was a random drug test. Overeem was to be randomly tested twice before the match as one of the conditions of him being granted a licence.

But there's not enough of it being done. I think UFC want to have the commissions do it since they handle it at events, but none of them have enough money to do so.

Yeah, I mean anyone is signed to a match, they should be ready for random drug tests, administered by ZUFFA/UFC at any time during the 90 days leading up to the match.

Almost nobody really does. Most people consider jones a phenom and just too physically gifted for anybody in the division at the moment.

Evans big and maybe only advantage is his speed. He's probably the fastest light heavy weight in the division. And jones showed a weakness to speed against Machida (until he crushed him) So if he implements a gameplan of hit and run attacks and constantly keeps moving maybe he could outpoint jones.
