Seriously. The average consumer is probably lost with all the versions. They'll either go cheapest or highest, and for the 360, cheapest is garbage.

that said, the modern warfare 2 bundle and this 250gig PS3 are alright deals. The problem with the PS3 one is that you can find a much larger hard drive for under $50 and install it yourself.

I think a lot of people shy away from that level of hardware tweaking, even if Sony says it doesn't void the warranty. Most people probably assume if they do it, it may break, and they'll be SOL with their expensive doorstop.

Yeah. One should not expect the average consumer to know how to replace a hard drive. That reminds me of that GAF topic where some lady jammed her credit cards into the Wii disc slot.

I'm not going to lie, I may crack and get a PS3 soon. I'm going to call Microsoft and if they don't want to fix their janky ass DVD drive, it is going in the garbage. Only problem is that I have no idea how reliable these Slims are. I don't know how many corners were cut to make it as cheap as it is.

I don't have a slim but I dust my PS3 like every 2-3 days. It collects dust like craaaaaazy. But I think that's just because it has more surface space than my vertical X360s and vertical Wii.

I am dustless, except for that one bit of silver plastic at the disc port. I think the thing is statically charged. Yuck. Dust.

A friend of mine usually covers his game systems with small towels to help keep the layer of dust off.

Me? I just dust and vacuum the room every week or two.

You're right. I wish I had a white ps3 just like how I had a white 360. That way I won't have to dust it off like my old 360; just let it sit there for a year and you won't notice a speck of dust.

Seriously, is it electromagnetic field or something inside the ps3 that causes it to be such a dust magnet?

hmm putting a towel on the ps3 might actually be a good idea for me. i rarely use the thing for gaming and only watch the occasional movie on it.
