I don't know why anyone would expect hardware bc on this unit. They're trying to sell PS3 games, plus adding the additional hardware would have just made the unit more expensive.

Isn't the PS2 like 100% profit for Sony now? It costs nothing but pride for them to slap a EE/GS chip in it. They just don't want people buying superior PS2 games to play on their PS Triple.

I'm sure they will have some on the front. If there isn't one on the back, especially with how they're putting focus on the PS eye, that would be really dumb. The one thing I really hate about the current PS3 design (other than the dust) is that everything needs to be plugged in from the front.

What? Home video sales are down drastically across the board. People are saving money by adding a premium channel to their cable or just renting/downloading their movies.

feature-wise a $299 PS3 is certainly more appealing than 360, but i can see MS countering by dropping the elite to $250 and arcade to $150 before the holiday

well, i meant it's all about the games for Sony as opposed to any console wars stuff, as "it's too expensive" isn't a factor anymore considering the feature set for the price point
