I was sorta hyped on it and then watched the behind the scenes stuff and how they're roughly using famous gangsters in the scenario (like Lucky Luciano) and then my hype popped out my pants and painted the walls.

Sherlock

Modern take on the character, but still amazingly faithful. The "Sherlock in the present" bit was surprisingly not cloying. I watched it mostly because of Martin Freeman as Watson and he was great as expected. The editing and onscreen cues during Sherlock's rapid deductions were handled beautifully. The season is actually 3 1.5hr episodes/movies so which was a nice change of pace. It's apparently done by the Doctor Who folk, which I've avoided but now am a bit interested in checking out after this.

YEAH!
Quote
This time Rita has commissioned Finster, a monster, to use and play mind control music. Finster makes a suggestion for the Gnarly Gnome, a kind of Pied Piper that hypnotizes by playing some hideous accordion music. Before Rita can object, Finster activates the Monster-matic and Gnarly Gnome is created. Back at the youth center, Kimberly is teaching a dance class. Afterwards some of the girls are hypnotized by the Gnarly Gnome except one girl, Melissa, who is totally deaf. Melissa follows the zombie-like girls into Rita's cave. Rita is irritated by the Gnome's mistake in capturing the girls when he was supposed to capture the Power Rangers. Melissa runs back to the Youth Center extremely terrified. She warns Jason about what she has just seen and he summons the Power Rangers to investigate. The Rangers follow Melissa back to the cave. Kimberly hides Melissa in a secure place so the Power Rangers can safely morph. After an intense fight, they defeat the Gnarly Gnome by engaging the Power Blaster and eliminating him.

oh man, by total chance I found out that there is an Inbetweeners season 3 and the first episode just came out.

The goddamn UK, man.  You never get a good idea of what is airing when.

The guy heading it is the guy who took over Doctor Who in for the latest series (5) and has made the best episodes in previous seasons.  But yeah, Sherlock was great.  I posted about the first episode a while ago.  His name is Steven Moffat, btw.

I started watching Weeds over the weekend. A widowed suburban mom selling weed to get by is an odd idea for a show, but it's pretty funny. I'm on season 2 now.

It starts off pretty good but unfortunately it loses its way big time. I watch it now mainly out of habit rather than it being good although every episode has a few humorous moments. And yes Mary-louise Parker is hot.

Its had its up moments and its down moments. For instance I thought Season 4 was a much better season than the prior season. But overall its certainly trended downwards from where it started. Its kind of a text book case of what happens when you don't plan a show that has a relatively complex theme. They make it up as they go along so it ends up feeling disjointed and weak.

I think it does but its not like its using a lot of iconic outdoor locations so really it might as well be anywhere. For what its worth I haven't liked this season so far at all.

I'm going through the first couple seasons of Buffy, and I don't think this show holds up that well.  It's still entertaining, and I dig the emotional bits of each of the episodes, but it has the same sort of feel that Chuck has now–still entertaining but ultimately played out to death.

The pilot episode shows someone trying to fly a plane into the president, which would be extremely eventful, except that they miss, when the plane is swallowed by some kind of space orifice. That's still pretty eventful, and everyone is amazed, discussing the eventfulness of it, when the science-lady turns to the President and says, "But that's not the REAL event," and then the credits roll.
