It says I don't know my password, and when I asked it to send my password to my e-mail account - the powers that be did not. I have to sign up for some kind of Steam Support account to resolve the matter, which I'm sure is problem #54435956963560356 for their support people.

I also wish I could change my account name. It is the e-mail I signed up for Steam with back in 2003 (when I was high in anticipation of Half-Life 2!), but I stopped using that e-mail account ages ago.

Have you had any luck in resolving this? I have exactly the same problem...I signed up for Steam to register for a free copy of HL2 for buying a video card (damned if I can remember which one now) and have been stuck with a email address for a username that I can't remember half the time.

I got the same deal, I think it was a ATi Radeon 9600 XT. That card was pretty great.

It finally downloaded and installed and it probably took me at least a half hour to get the ID and password bullshit through GameSpy sorted out. Once I did that, I got kicked from a game because my ping was high

. I did a filter search for servers without Punkbuster and nothing popped up

.

Finally for into a server and got to mess around in a way only possible in a Battlefield game. Gamespy ID is Kestastrophe if any of you homos want to play
