He's really missing out his chance to be the 'TERRIBLE GAMER' on YouTube or something.
He'd legit get tons of views playing very difficult games like Super Mario 3D World and Need for Speed: Heat and failing at them.

because he covers hardware and financials, not the actual games themselves. but i guess you don't really have to be good at games to review them, as we've learned from various outlets over the years.

E3 2020 "getting shook"....

Quote
We’d like to cut right to the chase.

We’ve listened to the feedback of our media partners, attendees and the industry at large. We are committed to keeping E3 at the level you’ve come to expect.

You’ll be happy to know that we’re not producing E3 2020 in a vacuum. For E3 2020, we’re collaborating with industry insiders and new creative partners, including the tastemakers at iam8bit.com, to reinvigorate the show and, frankly, to shake things up.

We are well down the path on the development and production of a large, super fun floor experience that celebrates gaming culture in exciting new ways.

Without revealing too much right now, here’s a taste.

We will be showcasing E3 to the world through new streaming and digital programming while creating gatherings on the show floor that let people do what they love the most… play and celebrate games.

We’ll have surprise guests, amazing stage experiences, access to insiders and experiential zones that delight the senses. It will be incredibly inclusive, celebrating all aspects of our industry.

Over the next few weeks – and continuing all the way to E3 – we will be revealing more details and will continue to listen and learn. In fact, if you have an idea that you’d like to see come to life at E3, please send it to suggestions@e3expo.com, and we’ll see if we can make it happen. No idea is too large or too small; we want to hear from you.

You should also know that we’ve upgraded our media registration process, which received a lot of attention this past summer. Earning back your trust and support is our top priority.

That’s why we rebuilt the E3 website with enhanced and layered security measures developed by an outside cybersecurity firm. This included updating our data management processes, including the handling of personally identifiable information, and we will no longer store that data on our site. We have also changed our registration practices and will collect the minimum information necessary to complete your registration.

E3 2020 will be a new and revitalized experience for everyone – the many exhibitors committed to the show, the members of the media who have supported us for so many years, and the fans and community that are the heart and soul of video games.

Finally, in case you’re wondering, E3 registration will start on February 15th. We’ll have more information on the process in the coming days.

So now they're providing bounce houses for the journos?  :doge

I just wanted to let you know there is a way to free roam with members of your gang which is a pretty cool thing.

I think it was a feature they removed or something but there is an easy way to get it going

The two co-founders of Archetype Entertainment are James Ohlen and Chad Robertson. Ohlen, head of studio at Archetype, has BioWare credits stretching back to Baldur's Gate. He was also lead designer of Dragon Age: Origins and game director of Star Wars: The Old Republic (he took a brief break from video games to co-create a Greek mythos-inspired setting and adventure for Dungeons & Dragons). Chad Robertson was most recently the head of technology for Mass Effect: Andromeda and live services director for Anthem, and now he's the general manager at Archetype.

Chad was their tech guy before that too. But yikes.  :lol

This news is honestly so depressing to me.  :(

The fact that Platinum is e-begging to port W101 while their generic Bayoclones are what keeps the lights on doesn't actually incentivize them to actually do anything new. In 2013 they released both Rising and W101, two very different approaches to an action game, but here they are in 2020 endlessly going back to the Bayo design well for Transformers/Astral Chain/Granblue/ninja turtles/endless Bayo sequels for their big chinese money games. And yet nobody at the studio can put aside the scratch to do a simple port of a classic. Save me kamiya. :'(

He was probably too busy banging backup dancers when the older systems were out.  I think him and Coco started dating in the late 90s.

They've been teasing a switch port for literally years, I assume it was already done and the kickstarter is mainly for the pc/ps4 ports. Might as well get $50k in case the whole kickstarter craters.

I don't know if I really agree with this.

I don't see Astral Chain at all as a Bayo clone. I mean I don't how yeah it has the dodge mechanical, but the game is really not combo fighter heavy at all. The entire structure of the game is also pretty unique for a Platinum game, way more story and down time. I don't know how Granblue plays, but a 4 player co-op rpg is also different. Astral Chain though does feel pretty new for Platinum. Thier games have never been big on story and world building, but Astral Chain is.
