Yeah, another out of date game director/designer who hasn't made a good game in 10-20 years. 

I hate being ageist as an old person, but I feel like people who haven't made a good game for over a decade are unlikely to make a good game now. Though I guess it's not ageist because someone whose like 75 whose been churning out games every couple years their whole life is a different story. I'm just biased against people who take extended time off in the industry coming back and everyone is expecting something like their old glory days.

Also why I am not falling for the hype of the new Suikoden wannabe. Hope it's good, but bias is against it.

Never bought anything from Limited Run Games before, and this LE kinda sucks in terms of the content, but the House in Fata Morgana Trilogy is probably top3 games I've played in the last decade and would be nice having a physical LE on the shelf so spent a benjamin on this.

Who still buys physical music cds today? What the hell do people even play them on? Cars these days aren't even coming with CD players. Everything is digital and streaming or vinyl if you want physical. cds are pretty useless. The whole Fata Morgana soundtrack is free streaming to all devices on Spotify. Will never touch these cds...

LRG is all about physical releases.  A code for a soundtrack doesn't make sense with what they're doing.  I agree with you though- any soundtracks I get with games just stay sealed and sit on a shelf.

WWII is still a setting with potential, but WWII (the game) was just annoying to play, like most modern Call of Duty that need to be HYPER at all times.
CoD1 and 2 are still fun to play to this day, because the campaigns are paced more rationally.

I dunno, supply of Ryzen is low but you can find some 5800X's from time to time.

RTX 3000, now that's a different story 

RTX 3060 = 699 - 999 Euro
RTX 3070 = 1200 - 1500 Euro
RTX 3080 = 1800 - 2500 Euro
RTX 3090 = 2500 - 3000 Euro

RTX cards were widely available here at launch unlike most of the world it seemed, but have recently became hard to find and much more expensive. I'm still happily rocking a 4770k and a 1070  Think i swapped into the 1070 over 3 years ago now, got the CPU and mobo etc ~6 years ago (cpu, mobo and gpu were 2nd hand too). Have added a few ssd's lately. Still runs 99% of games perfectly fine. Even played through cyberpunk on this bad boi

you can get 10 series intel chips cheap af here now. 10600k not far behind a 5600x is ~half the price. don't think there are many, if any, games that would bottleneck cpu time above 1080p for either atm

10850k is pretty much the same as the 10900k and presumably the 11900k for 399 Euro.
For gaming you're probably good with anything above or equal to the 7700k/Ryzen 3600.

I believe Mmarsu is rocking a 2600X with his RTX 3070.

It's a different story with things like rendering but for gaming @1080p a 1070/1080 should run most modern multiplatform games on high settings at 60fps.
Digital Foundry found out that the PS5/Xbox Series X in their current state are roughly equivalent to a RTX 2060/Ryzen 3600X. Not the RTX 2080 as they assumed.
The Xbox Series S is equal to the GTX 1070/1660 Super /ti. So congrats with a 1070 you have an entry level next gen machine.

For Ultra/High 1440p@60fps you probably want a RTX 2070S / RTX 2080 / RTX 3060 and finally for Ultra/High 4k you're looking at RTX 2080 Ti/ RTX 3070/ RTX 3080 with a part better or equal to the 9900k.

Also for shits and giggles the Switch is probably closest to the GT1030, which also runs some newer games surprisingly well given its performance and price.

It's pretty insane what type of performance we have in consumer level hardware today. I feel like that also has an impact on the availabilty.
The type of GPU's sold as the RTX 3060 would've been pixar render farm level in the early 2000's and the 1660 Ti the consumer level product.

The only thing that has kept the $600+ GPU market going is the high refresh rate displays and the myth that you need 120fps to be 'competitive'.
I wonder if Nvidia will nerf DLSS at some point because it will ultimately eat away at their own high-end market.

obviously amd chips are lacking some of the platform maturity of nvidias tech rn, but in terms of raw throughput the chips in the series x and ps5 are much more in line with the 2080 super.

i feel like people forget dlss was generally considered p worthless until the second iteration of 2.0 a year ago. i would be p surprised if amd and m$ supersampling tech (fidelityfx/directml) wasn't getting there by 2022. nvidia got a head start, but they won't hold it forever.

PS3 games you can emulate or buy ports on ps4.

Just buy a vita with the sd2vita attachment and mod the hell out of it since Sony doesn’t seem to want your money.  The PS2 GTA trilogy got ported over by hackers earlier this year, Bully will probably be out in a few weeks, and then potentially Half Life 2 and KOTOR later this year. You’re also able to download vita and psp games directly from Sony servers.

I also think it loses something when you don't have the Eastern Front in the game as that's something that Call of Duty really became known for in its campaigns, or at the very least the Americans in other fronts than just France after D-Day which IIRC is all that's in WWII. Not to mention the British campaigns in the past games like North Africa. I always liked hopping between the different fronts rather than sticking to just one until it was over.

It has never been. Here's how many of the PS2 games were actually digitalized. That's over 4000 games missing.

"There are 336 games that have been made digitally backward compatible out of 4491 that have been released for PlayStation 2."

As much as I like Xbox' BC program, that's nowhere near perfect either. Like, this is the ammount of original Xbox games that have been made BC compliant.

At the end of the day even for cinema, people go back and watch the pillars of the medium though, unless they're really hardcore into it, so a selection happens.
But in that case we're talking about movies from the 20's or 30's, in this case we're already losing shit from the mid 2000's.
