Is it selling? Everything seems to be tanking right now.
EA is not Activision. It'll sell, I've had no problem finding people to compete with on Autolog.

Gary Whitta is kicking my ass, btw.  :-[

Apparently the new Agarest Senki game is going to get patched for Move support on the PS3. About time someone made good use of motion controls. :teehee

In other PS3 news, you can now downgrade your firmware and make it hackable again. http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/new-ps3-jailbreak-beats-latest-firmware-update-with-downgrade/

I gotta platinum Demon's Souls and jump on that.

Has anyone ever bought used games from goHastings.com before?  I'm curious about their quality standards.

They've got a B2G1 on used games going on this week and I wanna pick up Arkham Asylum, Ninja Gaiden 2 and something else.

Ive bought one game from GoHastings and the quality was fairly good. Everything was there and the game had minimal scratches. CheapAssGamer seems to speak well of the site so I think you'll be okay.

Oh and it took me a while to get the game. Like two weeks.

Cool, thanks.  I'm alright with the wait.

The Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label Extra patch is finished! :o :o :o

http://www.cave-stg.com/?p=295#more-295
Quote from: EOJ
Mihara posted on his blog today a message detailing the patch. First, it was scheduled to be released on 11/23, and they planned an announcement today to that effect. However, due to Microsoft being in “Panic Mode” right now (apparently Capcom recently commented on this too), it has moved to an ‘unknown date’. However, the patch is 100% COMPLETE. It is just sitting in limbo, waiting for the MS people to give it the OK. When this will be, no one quite knows, but I’d expect it in December.

There are no changes to the port accuracy itself, only to bugs and features. The full list of fixes/changes is below:

Patch notes:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Quote from: EOJ
The following bugs were fixed:

-Get a game over in the second loop in xbox live mode and the leaderboards would freeze

-Game would freeze randomly when you signed out of xbox live on one of the game menus

-Game would randomly freeze when you selected ARCADE MODE – NEW VERSION.

-Black Label replays would show 1-2 instead of 2-2, and everything after 2-2 was similarly from the first loop.

-Game config difficulty, extends, and ship stock would only apply for one credit.

-stage select settings would only apply for one credit, resetting afterward every time.

-Glitch on acheivements screen where if you held the lever during the now loading screen it would screw up the appearance of the achievements.

-Replays didn’t work.

-Scores would show stages that didn’t exist (like 1-6)

-Lots of other glitches with the replays and online leaderboards

-Achievements wouldn’t unlock due to certain play conditions

-Relevant mode wouldn’t show when you tried to adjust the aspect ratio

-Game would always start out in widescreen mode even if you set the screen to 4:3

-Bees would randomly disappear on screen

-Scores wouldn’t save in each mode unless you had autosave on.

-X-mode score display was glitchy in the high digits.

-Smoothing OFF would not actually remove the smoothing (smoothing has been removed completely)

-BGM would not play if you returned to Replay Data Archive from watching a replay.

-There was a ‘now loading’ sign between stages during a game (this has been removed)

MAJOR CHANGES

-Title screen now shows ver 1.6

-Achievements can be unlocked in a new profile. The stats gained in a previous save are carried over to a new save.

-All leaderboards will be reset after the patch.

-Replay file names were changed. Old replays will no longer play.

-Loading times were significantly improved

-X-Mode is available from the start – no need to play for 6 hours to unlock it now

-Smoothing options were removed. They weren’t in the PS2 version.

-X-mode’s scoring system was influenced by bugs, and now that these have been fixed, it will feel a bit different.

-The algorithm on the last boss was changed, as it felt really weird before. It is much closer to the original Arcade version now.

A re-release might happen, considering how long Mihara spent working on this patch, but it might not be possible since it's still running on code stolen from the PS2 version... which Mihara ported. But yeah it wouldn't be region free.

Also, Eurogamer recently went to Cave's offices and did a little interview. It's less shitty than most Cave interviews and a decent read: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-19-caves-story-interview

Quote
"Up to now, we haven't done an original title on 360. When we do we'll definitely take the international market into account, but in terms of changing the game's design or anything... We're not going to change our style. That's Cave's style."

:rock Not dumbing games down for consoles :rock

DFK for iPhone selling 40,000 is pretty good too. Now the challenge is getting those people to upgrade to the console port of the real game once that's released.

Nico is awesome for 60 fps videos. I don't know why Youtube doesn't have that option yet (I have seen some 60 fps YT vids, but I think it was done with some trickery).

I'm thinking of trading in my Wii games since I'm gonna hack it anyways, but what should I get with the credit? I'm thinking Assassin's Creed I and II for 360. Can't think of anything else I really want to play, and it'd lead into Brotherhood which I'm REALLY interested in.

I'm going to take a guess and say it's House of the Dead: Overkill Directors Cut (or some variation) for Move.

I believe its confirmed (as in direct quote from someone) that they are making a HOTD Overkill sequel for Wii and Ps3, with the ps3 receiving the first game as well.

I'd get AC2 and Brotherhood if you can. Being blunt about it, Assassin's Creed 1 isn't very good and may put you off the series.

I played it already when I had a PS3 and loved it ???

However, if I have the money I might just get II and Brotherhood. Is there any plot connection between 1 and 2? I know 2 and Brotherhood are directly connected.

Update on this. I just went to Gamestop and they told me about a deal where every three games I trade in, I get $10 extra. I'm already sitting at $81, so when I bring in another game I'm getting well over $90. This seems to be enough to get all three Ass Creed games, but I'm open to recommendations. I already own Black Ops, not interested in New Vegas because I'm working on Fallout 3 atm. Anybody wanna share their thoughts?

Ass Creed 2 is the most improved sequel this gen.Playing Brotherhood now, fantastic game also.

No direct connection in the story between 1 and 2.Brotherhood is continuation of 2 story.

Rumor has it that EA Sports is attempting a revival of NFL Blitz.

Blitz was the only football game I played with regularity, and I doubt the No Fun League would allow late hits and showboating in a licensed NFL title. Still, with Mark Turmell at EA Tiburon, I hope it's good...

You won't really understand the story in 2 (and I'm guessing Brotherhood) if you don't play 1.  AC1 is a fun but short game and the assassinations all follow pretty much the same formula.  AC2 is vastly improved but I would suggest playing AC1 first especially as it's probably under $10 bucks anywhere you can find it.

If you haven't finished an AC game, just know that the story is definitely worth it.

AC1 is a good game, but AC2 is superior though it's also more of the same. I'd say wiki the story from AC1 and then play the better game. Finishing AC1 took me quite a while (DNA sequence complete -- maybe that was my problem?) and it just dragged on and on...

Reviving Blitz is like reviving NBA Jam.  Both are franchises that faded into obscurity for a reason.  EA Sports would be throwing their money away with a new Blitz game.

I don't really care whether blitz or jam sell great in a sales sense. I just want the games. I mean I can put on my analysis hat and say its not a smart idea to sell those games at full retail price. Especially because when they tank, they are less likely to make more of them in the future. But in a pure gaming sense all I want is the games. I'll wait until they hit cheap prices to pick them up though.

Nier is awesome. It's an action RPG, not an action/adventure game like GoW. It blends lots of different playstyles together though. For example, there's 2D side scrolling sections, a section that plays like a graphic novel, bosses have bullet patterns like you'd see in a bullet hell shooter, and more.

Its graphics are straight out of 2005, but the gameplay, dungeons, story, characters, and especially the OST are all really good. Definitely one of my top 5 RPGs this gen.

:drudge Great games are being released on Game Room! :drudge

I know, I couldn't believe it either. But Pack #12 contains:

Quote from: Rlan
Now what happens with Game Room is once a pack is released only a few of the games are available, and each week the rest game "released". Today's update included:

Arcade: Blades Of Steel, (Arcade version of the popular NES game) Trick Trap,

Atari 2600: Pitfall II ("best Atari 2600 Game ever" says Retrogamer Magazine)

Intellivision: Vectron

But people have looked into the pack and found what the other games are, which includes:

Arcade

Amidar
Detana Twinbee
Food Fight
MIA: Missing in Action (aka Rush'n Attack 2)
Pooyan
Sunset Riders (4-Player Beat'em up Cowboys)
Twinbee (Big shooter in Japan)

Atari 2600

Off The Wall
Thwocker
Warlords

Intellivision

Volleyball
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=413958

If it weren't for Konami, Game Room would be absolutely worthless.
