Random moment of clarity: I've become a lazy and reclusive gamer.
- I want to play WH40k Space Marine's Online mode.
- I'd need to learn to play it with KB&M or be slaughtered.
- ... and I just can't be arsed to do that. 360 pad be comfy and Couch compatible.
Playing on easy, too. Dying? Not on my watch. Huh. Funny how that goes.
Game rocks, by the way. Ain't no game of the forever, but it delivers just the right amount of fun I just about needed right now. On and off again I've been subvocalizing a squeal or giggle in an entirely unbecoming manner (not unlike that
Brit). Nothing beats charging at a horde of Orks and just turning them into red goo. It's a crazy over-the-top powertrip fantasy.
I do kind of miss the more humorous aspect of the Orks though. No "Look! 'umies! >
:
D". Instead it's an outright
articulate "Space Marines! >
:
(" followed by hordes and hordes of angry Ork clones. No misfiring, no accidental explosions, little excitement at the prospect of getting torn to shreds. Haven't heard anyone go "Dakka Dakka" or "Waaagh!", either. The big guys aren't lovingly motivating their subordinates, and the accuracy of those few that wield guns is rather astounding.
The Blue Guys aren't quite the hardass Emperor-Botherers they ought to be, either. In fact, IIRC their religious aspect isn't even introduced.
Oh well, I'll deal. There's delicious fluff, and there's "Will it blend? Orks & Space Marines edition".
Then again, I'm still at the very beginning of the game, at chapter four or somesuch. Might come into play later. I already know that there'll be a third party, and I very much look forward to go toe-to-toe with them.
TL;DR: Relic

Nagging (non)issue: The occasional invisible wall or unscalable pebble doesn't really detract from the carnage, but still kinda annoys me.
