I don't remember many surfing games.  Jet ski games were kinda big with wave race, splash down, and stretching it a bit, jet moto.  And there were more that I'm forgetting.

I want to see more free running games.  As much as I liked the feeling of being chased and chasing in Mirror's Edge, I wouldn't mind if a sequel was handled as a racing/extreme sports game.  The time trials were what kept me playing.

Someone in the SSX thread on gaf made a good point.  Where did surfing games go?

What was the last surfing game (retail or indie)?  Must be at least 10 years.  Someone should try to make a new one, even if it's just a low budget indie game.

Who the hell played surfing games?

The only one I can think of is Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer.

Yeah, this was pretty much the only surfing game I played a ton of and it was AWESOME.  Someone should remake T&C Surf Design on modern systems.

Hard to say.  VVVVVV and Mutant Mudds both did really well, though.  Apparently quite a step up from DSiWare and Wiiware.
looks like they are trying to get it on Sony platforms. Recon it will get released or rejected?

I played California Games on my Atari 7800 all the time. It had surfing. Hacky sack, BMX and skateboarding were the best, though.

Never heard of that Enix RPG surprisingly. Looks a bit dated compared to some of its contemporaries but I should check it out. You ever play Emerald Dragon, magus?

Langrisser IV is one of my favorite SRPGs of all time... but I own the Saturn version :P Wonder if it'd be OK to just :pirate the PS1 version and run it on ePSXe.

this year hasn't started out too great in games...

the last two years we had Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 to kick off the year... this year The Darkness 2 was ok... SSX isn't impressing me that much.

really hope ME3 tears the fucking roof down.

Final Round's UMvC3 finals are going on right now (SSF4AE after MvC is done): http://www.twitch.tv/teamsp00ky

A Japanese player named Ageojoe is destroying with Rocket Raccoon/Viewtiful Joe/Frank West :lol  I will be disappoint if he gets knocked out by Phoenix garbage.

edit: Ageojoe won everything, never dropping from the winners bracket. :bow

Just looking at the parking lot texture it's missing the destroyed beat up look.  And the whole image is lacking in the grittiness of the original.  I don't know why they bothered replacing the textures.  Just re-render the original in higher res like the PC port and call it a day.

Huh.

I wouldn't say it's "the most important science fiction universe" but I would say it's my generation's Star Wars of Star Trek. Actually, It would be more honest to say that Mass Effect has the potential to be that.

I'm waiting for the 11th Mass Effect movie to come in theaters first before I'd say that.

I dunno why they just didnt remake THPS from the start. I mean, fuck. Everyone who played Skate HATED what it became, we want Tony Hawk to come back. The new physics and engine will probably restrict a lot of the crazy shit you can do though. Like the Jesus ramp in the first level of THPS1.

No, that's Toriyama.

Although Nojima was responsible for Crisis Core and the abomination that was Genesis. But at least CC had a great ending.

Start with normal, change to easy around midway if it gets too frustrating.  You can change difficulty levels at the bar segments by hitting start.
