A few years ago a bunch of modders were doing a remaster that looked much more impressive than this port

Rumor has it they are still working on this under the radar to prevent Disney from shutting it down.
But no one really knows for sure.

not surprising a remaster looks better than a $15 port breh. that does look p good, though it is a couple minutes of a random brown stage in what is a pretty big game.

i'd take a simple cheap port to modern hardware with a couple qol improvements that hopefully leads to a new entry over putting a heap of time into a full graphical remaster. especially with republic commando which imo still looks p good. it's like playing the halo remakes but i avoid the updated graphics, i dont think they look good and half the reason im playing this game is nostalgia. there are exceptions though, love the demon's souls remake changes for instance, even if i would've preferred them be applied to dark souls it's nice to bring inaccessible titles to modern hardware (though a shame it's an exclusive).

In the past few years, Sony has treated the PS4 gen as their flagpole/legacy over anything else up to that point. Which isn't necessarily bad, but cutting off a lot of software is due to them not having a solution or service to keep that software relevant.

Nintendo will hand pick games that are guaranteed hits or very easy to port or dump. Microsoft has Game Pass and excellent BC software/engineering that keeps old games alive. Both of these solutions make money. Sony didn't bother with any solution.

If Sony had it's own Game Pass that had a rotation of PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP and Vita games, it would most likely bring in revenue. But their leadership said fuck it, it's too expensive to design or implement BC software for that purpose.

Apparently the new game by the drunk "FUCK THE OSCARS" guy from the Video Game Awards is really good. (Josef Fares)

It's called It Takes Two and seems to be getting a bunch of 10/10 reviews. Looks like a highly refined A Way Out.

Yeah, another out of date game director/designer who hasn't made a good game in 10-20 years.

I hate being ageist as an old person, but I feel like people who haven't made a good game for over a decade are unlikely to make a good game now. Though I guess it's not ageist because someone whose like 75 whose been churning out games every couple years their whole life is a different story. I'm just biased against people who take extended time off in the industry coming back and everyone is expecting something like their old glory days.

Also why I am not falling for the hype of the new Suikoden wannabe. Hope it's good, but bias is against it.

Never bought anything from Limited Run Games before, and this LE kinda sucks in terms of the content, but the House in Fata Morgana Trilogy is probably top3 games I've played in the last decade and would be nice having a physical LE on the shelf so spent a benjamin on this.

Also this is a good time for my it's 2021 rant on music cds in LEs.

Who still buys physical music cds today? What the hell do people even play them on? Cars these days aren't even coming with CD players. Everything is digital and streaming or vinyl if you want physical. cds are pretty useless. The whole Fata Morgana soundtrack is free streaming to all devices on Spotify. Will never touch these cds...
