Nice to see ESPGaluda 2 and Dodonpachi Reseurrection... always good to get more "widespread" releases of Cave shmups. Surprised we haven't gotten Mushihime-sama Futari, ESP Ra.De., or ESPGaluda yet... those are my favorite Cave games.

Wish I was excited, but I guess I'm not to much into horror games other than RE.  I'm curious what Kojima would bring to the genre that hasn't been done already?  Love me some Jimbo, but until a reveal, I'm gonna sit on the scepticism train for now.  Either that, or my Dragon's Dogma 2 hype is overshadowing everything ATM.

I had Virtua Fighter PC. IIRC, nVidia had a lot to do with those Saturn PC ports. Sega probably doesn't even remember these, or SegaSoft, it'd be funny if they were GOG's interest.

I can't really think of any horror game that's got that MGS/Death Stranding kind of heavy stylish cutscene and full of easter eggs and a ton of gameplay depth that Kojima games have. I mean Team Silent's Silent Hill games are probably closest in that it had stylish cutscenes and music, but that's decades ago.

Horror these days is either indie budget FPS psychological horror & scares with simple gameplay like Amnesia & SOMA, or RE clones. I feel like Kojima can definitely bring something fresh to the genre.

I mean just look at P.T., tiny little demo and it inspired an entire genre of PT Clones. And the BT stuff in Death Stranding are basically creepy stealth horror and pretty cool with the invisibility and baby detector. I don't have huge faith in Kojima as a writer since MGS4 onwards, but I think he gets atmosphere/ambiance and makes excellent gameplay, so there's definitely potential for a good horror game. Story is...less important in horror if you have good atmosphere and gameplay. Silent Hill 3's story is pretty bad, but people love it because it has great atmosphere and music and creepyness and the gameplay is ok.

I thought the gameplay is upgraded though and they're making it play like TLoU2.
Still a pointless remake. Remaking anything from PS3/X360 era at this point is stupid. They still look fine. Especially if you can play them at 60fps/4k on PC.

The biggest issue with this remake is that ND is making it. If any other dev made it, then who cares. But ND doesn't put out a lot of games, so this was a bunch of development time wasted on it that could've been spent on a new game.

I feel the same way about Factions, but Factions sounds big and could be good I guess? I read it's trying to be like The Division/Destiny kind of long-running big GAAS thing. If they actually pull it off (and ND is a good dev, so I think it's likely they can), it could be pretty good. I'm just not really interested as someone whose not big on MP.

Schierer says as of today all sources are still saying no delay for GoW and 2022 release.

It is fucking bizarre how for such a big 1st party game that's going to be out this year they haven't showed a damn thing yet. All I can guess is that the game isn't looking visually impressive being cross-gen and iterative to the last game all (GoW2018 isn't super impressive looking today) and they're trying to polish up the gfx to the last minute to get something impressive enough to show to blow people away and hype it up.

I think that's more because they launched H2 so close and now Sony will never launch a tentpole game next to a From Soft Souls game again

Can't think of any big AAA stuff in fall/winter 2022 that they'd be worried about launching GoW2 next to. I do think GoW2's open-world will be reviewed poorly (based on the mediocre open-world repetitive stuff from GoW2018) compared to Elden Ring's open-world but Ragnorak has to be well past 100% content-complete at this point and they're not going to retool the entire gameplay and delay it for another 2 years. That is what it is.

Man, the latest update for Falcom's Trails of the Black II is really really good. Trails of the Black cast is pretty dull, finally the main cast will have good characters.

The lead characters from Hajimari are in. They are great leads. Way better than Rean and better than Kuro's lead. I was bummed they only got a single game to lead. Very glad they are in here.

Anger Foot is a lot of fun, hard as nails at times though.

The old version I linked seems to be the full game, but the new demo I checked out afterwards has some new stuff, slightly different (expanded) levels and more polished graphics.

Cult of the Lamb.. man that game seems amazing. Only played a little bit since it's a demo, but it seems like a mix between Black & White, Binding of Isaac and im like fuck yeah.
