I'm kinda torn because I don't know what the point of having physical gaming collections are if you decide to go digital at some point because your collection just...stops.
It's like either you care about having physical copies of all your favorite games (or just entire console/handheld libraries) in which case by missing the modern systems after you go digital your physical game collection feels incomplete.
Or you don't care and are perfectly happy with everything digital these days, in which case why do you keep all these old physical games around that you're never going to play.
Part of me feels like I should have kept buying physical this gen because I have a pretty substantial library collection from like Saturn/PS1 -> PS3/X360/Wii/3DS, but then I feel like idk, what's the point.
Like I was packing today and went through my old anime DVDs and some 90s collectibles like trading cards/pogs/figures. I looked up on ebay every.fucking.thing as I packed and yeah, some stuff is legit worth some money. I've got these marvel trading cards in mint condition from 1993 that are apparently worth like $25-75 per card, I've got a Vash the Stampede Mcfarlane figure sealed that apparently is worth over $100, some of my anime dvds are worth $100+, etc..., I've got a full set of Nintendo Club Super Metroid Pogs that are apparently worth a little, but like the time it would take me to actually go through everything and list it on ebay and sell it individually and pack it and stuff...I don't have time for it and the profit isn't going to be worth it.
And my game collection is definitely worth way more than anime dvds or some trading cards. But when will I ever have the time to sell off my collection even if it's worth something? Just feels like hoarding shit until I die and someone else can inherit it and do the work to sell it and get some money out of it.
Idk, my back hurts and everywhere hurts from packing and moving mangas and dvds and shit all day and I'm just like "I wish I could hire someone to sell all my shit and take like 5-10% that I wouldn't worry was scamming me", I really want to downsize in moving, but I have a feeling I'm going to end up taking like 90% of my shit with me and it'll just sit in boxes for the next 10 years with a "some day go through this and sell it" note on top.
