I bet one of two scenarios takes place:

1) This issue fixes itself much like the Zune New Year's Eve bug did 12/31/08. Even though the problem fixes itself, Sony will still take credit for responding to the problem in a quick manner.

2) This problem does not fix itself. In which case, we will be waiting around at least three weeks for a firmware update to fix this thing.
