Over the last week or two I've fallen down a wrestling scandal rabbit hole. Watched both seasons of Dark Side Of The Ring, and then some ten hour Behind The Titantron compilation. I was loving it, but I've just realised reading that name that everything has mushed into one big lump in my brain. Still, it was interesting to learn about, especially the early days when every territory had their own thing.

Someone tell me how a package in the US, intended for the US,  suddenly hops onto a plane (after originally being in America) to Puerto Rico.

At least UPS and USPS found it and scanned it to where I can go "WTF," at this. But my god: I hate online shipping that isn't 2-days expedite. I needed this phone over a week ago, it was intended for Monday, it got here Sunday within like a "deliver today" drive-to and jumped ship to another country.

USPS, not even once.

Dad died. Any tips dealing with it? Feel much better than when he died but could use any info for going forward.

I've had other people in my life die. Close friends, grandparents...but none were losing a parent.

I concur with what has been said. Also, disregard anyone that might question how you grieve. How you express that is yours and no one else's. You don't have to be overly stoic or overly performative for other people. Your grieving is for you.

Sorry Cindi, no advice because I have hardly experienced any loss.  I hope this isn't overstepping, but I feel like we both share mental health issues, and at least for me, unexpected events hit me way more than I feel like they hit other people.  So between this and current events, do everything you can to take care of yourself.

I'm actually doing really well considering. My hurt was really intense the day of but it has lessened as I've put more time into me re of suffice things that dad would rather have me invest myself in. Also writing my thoughts has helped a lot too.

Today was really good progress wise. I've come to terms with it. Even looked at the funeral program and didn't cry or feel sad - it is beautiful and dad would love it. I thought life would be over when it happened but it really continues on. My mom and I are starting to have the best relationship we've had in years and despite the sadness I feel more free after his passing.

This morning, my mom had to get mitral valve replacement surgery due to a severe narrowing of it. Luckily, she was able to do the least intensive one, TAVR, which meant she didn't need to get cut open (the valve was sent up by catheter and expanded). Just found out that she's OK, they're just monitoring to see if she needs a permanent pacemaker. She should be home on Saturday... Extremely relieved, as I was freaking out about this (not to mention she first found out a few weeks before covid hit).

I just read it, Cindi, I am incredibly sorry for your loss. I am glad you are in a good place right now. It's tough losing loved ones. Some day you feel better and some days you feel worse, sometimes out of nowhere. I wish you nothing but strength for the grieving process.

Last night was really hard when I tried to sleep. I saw him pass and he was looking me and me at him while I held his hand. I kept thinking of the image of him dead. There's blocks in my mind now but it was the most hurtful/scary part of my life. It's hard to sleep thinking about it. I had never seen a person die before.

Look at this from the angle that you were there for him in his last moments, I bet that mattered to him a lot.

I lost one of my closest friends when he committed suicide. That was almost 12 years ago and I still have dreams in which I feel immense guilt for not doing more to help him(even though I know I couldn't have). The grieving process is long and grueling, some part of your grief will never go away.

In moments where you feel overwhelmed  by grief: Talk to someone who also knew him, share funny anecdotes and laugh together. That always helped me.

Today saw dad's body for his funeral tomorrow. I was scared before seeing it and utterly dreaded it. But when I saw it I felt so calm and it made me feel better. Somehow it brought me a lot of comfort seeing him, even if he was dead. I don't know why. He will be cremated on Monday.

I get that. But it is also sad when the last time you see someone they're a corpse. When I lost my uncle I saw him in a coma, then the last time I saw him he was dead in the hospital bed. Just sucks that those memories always color my immediate 'recall' of him I guess?

But he looked so peaceful. Much better than the last picture of him being him dying.
