edit: all the testimonials refer to their daily prayers to god..... lol.

Yeah they claim to be non-religious, but they apparently push the central importance of a "higher power" which the way they do it kind of creeped him out. though he didn't really succeed without AA, so maybe you should disregard his opinion here

AA didn't work for my dad because of the religious issues. There are other groups that you can go through though (although those didn't work for my dad either). Best of luck, man.

My Dad wasn't religious, but AA worked for him. It's true they say you need to accept a higher power, but they don't specify what that power is. It could be any god you want, or fate, or evolution, or wat-evah. From teh wiki:

I think it probably depends on the particular group. My dad told me how they would do prayers and talk about how Jesus could help him. Probably depends on where you are to be honest. My dad went to meetings in a backroad country town.

Apollo had me worried this morning and last night. He spit up after eating a bit last night and didn't want to eat anymore. He was also whimpering. But he came back a few hours later and chowed down. And this morning when I got up to feed him he drank his water but right after he didn't touch his food. He wanted to go outside. But I think he just needed to pee because he came back in a few minutes later and ate it all.

She's with the vet running tests. The vet didn't seem overly worried. She said it was a really good sign that she hasn't continued to vommit.

I've been to a good amount (12? 14?) of AA-like meetings, and they were helpful just as therapy, and for someone with real struggles with alcohol abuse I think it could help quite a bit. The best is when everyone would share their dreams about drinking 'cause they were quitting irl.

i'm on book 3 and the fact that she's mentioned means that she's probably still alive until book 5 which ruins all tension of there's any scenes where she's in danger. or even if she dies it ruins that because it means she will probably come back.

Vet now thinks there is two things wrong with her, her stomach issues from yesterday and a possible infection/abscess in her shoulder. I think two unrelated problems at once is stupid, but that might be because I watch to much House.

At least they gave her pain meds so she doesn't look like she is in horrible pain. She also warned us that a dog with similar symptoms ended up having a flesh eating disease

I just spent 1/4 of a months pay in two days.

Nami is getting worse. She is in so much pain she just stands in a corner with her tail down. I tried to take her for a walk and she screamed when I tried to put on her harnes, and now she won't let me near her

Just took Nami into the animal hospital. The pain she was having spread, and I wanted a second opinion, so we decieded to take her in. They took her off to do an exam and I didn't think they would be keeping her over night so I didn't even pet her goodbye which I really regret, but at least she is in the best place she can be when she is sick. It's also another $600 gone.

I thought I had it bad because Apollo hadn't taken a shit in a couple of days and I was worried. He kept rubbing his butt on the floor and his stomach was huge. I guess he was just a bit constipated because I woke up this morning to 3 HUGE shits on my living room floor. I wasn't even mad, just happy that he finally shit again.

nami is back at home and doing a lot better. I have to hand feed her and get her to drink from a syringe but other than that she seems a lot more happy and relaxed. They think she had a bad reaction to one of the things the first vet did which was inject water under her skin for her dehydration (instead of IV) and that's what caused her pain, and then because she was in pain then she really wouldn't eat or drink anything.

So with any luck she shouldn't need to go back to the vet and will be normal in 3 or 4 days they said. It's been about $1200 for 3 days of vets

Drove up to LA and went on a date with a girl I'd met over OKC in the last week. First one in a few years. Was fun, had a good time. Will see in a few days if the other side thought the same as well.

I'm pretty rusty at this since I only go on a date or two every few years. Hopefully when things calm down in a month or two (have a loooot going on right now in my life) I'll have time to date more and get the hang of it.
