Group Project Drama Dictionary
There are various classes each individual in a group project fits into. For instance
Loner Guy: Typically a younger male. Quiet but reliable
Leader Guy/Girl: Most outspoken, goal oriented member; rarely the smartest member
Dudebro Guy: Loud, obnoxious, popular. Can be reliable if Leader Guy keeps him in check
Tardy Guy: Doesn't show up, doesn't do shit.
Parent Chick: Older mother, has responsibilities. Very reliable; typically a nursing student
Cute Chick: Walking disaster. Unreliable, but can make Dudebro Guy work harder to get her attention
Career Man: Back in school to get promotion. Can clash with Leader Guy.
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy: Somehow graduated high school. Ruins everything. Future president or senator.
Ok so usually I'm Loner Guy. I do my work, don't get too involved with everyone else, and I'm typically Leader Guy's number two. This semester I finally got placed in a group with no natural leaders, so I took the mantle of Leader Guy. My group consists of:
Leader Guy (me)
Dudebro Guy
Parent Chick
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy
Cute Chick
A horrible set up. Since I'm not a natural leader, I don't get along well with Dudebro Guy who's basically an asshole. Cute Chick spends most of her time laughing at Dudebro Guy's jokes, and he shows no ability to impress her with any academic feats. Parent Chick is my number two. Very reliable, and brings animal crackers to meetings.
Flash forward to today:
Me: ok, I think we can do this. How about I start on the power point and research. Parent Chick, can you start on research too?
Parent Chick: Sure. I can take my kids to the library for a field trip
Me: Sounds good.
Dudebro Guy: I'll do some research this weekend
Cute Chick: *giggle*
Me: Fine. Cute Chick, can you start working on the header page?
Cute: I guess...
Me: distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy, how about you start on the bibliography? We'll be sending you our sources, you can just update it as you get them
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy: You mean works cited?
Me: Yes.
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy: Dunno, how about you guys send me your research in emails and I print it out? And send me the stuff you write for the paper. I can print it out at Kinkos and get some nice colors and shit
Me: Uhhh, why. We're going to print everything for free at the library.
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy: Oh. Well what am I supposed to do now?
Me: Bibliography
distinguished mentally-challenged fellow Guy: Ok, works cited.
I know Cute Girl is going to struggle with the easiest job, so I made sure not to give Dudebro Guy any specific assignment; I'm betting Cute Girl will call him and he'll help her. He's a dumbass but should be able to put a header together.
