Pretty sure I just failed the first exam in my biology class.  Fuck.

Put the notes from class on my Nook and read over them two or three times a day.  TBH, I skimmed them more than I actually read them, but I felt pretty confident about the material before going in there.

oh well it's all basically memorization so for me, the easiest thing to do is rewrite all the notes in detail and basically like make a little encyclopedia of relevant knowledge. I only read them like once or twice before the test but it's in my own words so it's easier.

Just make sure to use this experience to try harder instead of getting deeper in the hole.  Also don't really freak out until you get it back.  If everyone else did shit then you're ok.

yeah there were a lot of times where somebody would ask me if we should study a certain thing and I said that if the teacher does ask a question about that, then he's going to have to curve it more.

I manage to do well but maybe I shouldn't be giving advice.

I didn't talk to anyone else in the class about how they thought they did.  Guess I'll just find out.  A girl that's in the class says she writes the notes down in class (I do the same) but then she takes them home and records them and puts them on her playlists for the gym and in the car.  She said it helps her remember the material because of association with the songs.  I thought about trying this.

Today I had another realization about how much my religious upbringing fucked up my concept of physical contact with the opposite sex.

When I was on my way to my car to leave my campus I saw some guy holding/hugging his lady friend from behind and they were both slowly rocking from side to side. This of course stood out to me and gave me some anxiety because I was taught by my teachers and religious leaders (my parents never really bothered teaching me anything about relationships and sex) that any sort of physical contact (outside of marriage) besides holding hands and light hugs was considered lustful and downright immoral.

Ha. Even after about 3 years of being a free-thinker/atheist it's still taking me a while for me to adjust to this sort of thing.

Another thing that's weird to me is that my parents married at the age of 23. I haven't even been in a relationship yet and I'm 22.

I have to wonder what their opinions are about me being single up to this point. It must not be such a big deal because they don't even bring it up to me.

edit: Also, my parents weren't religious until they got married. Haha... I know my dad probably had premarital sex with another girl before he met my mom because he has this secret "regret" of his that he never brings up. So I'm guessing it's that.

Don't sweat it.  I married when I was 21 and I FULLY regret it.  I don't regret having the kid or anything, but it would have been nicer to have had him a little later in life. 

But we are in an age when it's becoming acceptable to wait to marry again.  Lots of couples are waiting until they're in their late 20's to mid 30's to get hitched.  Don't be in a rush, just enjoy what you've got.

Since Monday, I logged 80 hours of work this week, capped off with a 21-hour shift today.

I just got home and, in technical terms, am tired as fuck.

I'd say "fml" except that, in about 7 weeks when the overtime cheque arrives, it will be glorious.

At my last job, I had required 80-hr work weeks for 5-6 months straight with zero days off, except maybe Christmas although I'd still get calls/texts. I'd work 100+ days straight. Salary... And I made less than half of my husband's annual salary. And put tens of thousands of miles on my personal car every year. And my boss would scream at me if I didn't answer my personal cell on the first ring when he called. I had almost 58,000 minutes of call time on my last phone when I left, and they never gave me a dime for my cell bill.

Good lord, they could take a daily shit in my cube at my new job and I'd be happy. I get overtime now too
