Seems like I've got a stye. My eyelid is swollen after having a zit like thing on it near the eyelash. Thats since gone away but now my eye is fat. I'm soaking a cloth in hot water and massaging it. Any other advice? No insurance for myself so I am hoping I can clear this up on my own. My actual eye doesn't hurt by the way and my vision is fine. Just the eye lid is sore.

Wet towel over green tea pouch over your eye. Use a bandana to secure it in place. Once the tea bag feels used up, just replace it with another. Do it earlier next time too. Every time I get a stye I do this and it's gone in no time.

One of the problems with Korea was that the beer was shit. They basically have two brands: Cass and Hite, and they're pretty much the equivalent of Coors Light and Miller Light. Does Japan suffer a similar problem?

Japan's macrobreweries have a total lock on distribution, it feels like. Asahi is the biggest, with Sapporo, Kirin, and Suntory in there as well. The biggest selling beer in Japan is Asahi Super Dry, which is not a bad beer, but it's not to my taste, and most times it is the ONLY thing on tap.

Supermarkets in Silicon Valley sell a lot of interesting beer. In Japan, most markets have a wide variety of beer, including seasonal offerings -- which all taste nearly identical to each other.

Back in Japan! Fell asleep early, so woke up around 3:00 AM. This suuuuucks!

Actually my question was pretty dumb, because I've had Asahi and Sapporo on a number of occasions. They're definitely better than the Korean macro-brews (I'd rate Asahi at about a 6/10, while Hite is like a 3.5/10), but the lack of variety is something I'd miss, particularly since I'm an IPA/Stout kind of guy.

Jesus-dude was feeling my impending departure from The Land of Good Beer; I repented on my final evening, enjoying Lagunitas' Hairy Eyeball, Sierra Nevada's DevESTATEstion, and finally some Firestone Double Jack.  Then, on the plane home, I felt like having one last beer: mistake. I had a Kirin Lager, and it just emphasized what crap I'm going to endure for the foreseeable future.

Actually, AWESOM-O, Stouts have become popular in Japan, and are readily available in many places. Each macrobrewery has a couple stout versions up, and Guinness is available on tap in many bars. But if you meant interesting craft stouts, you'll be as out of luck as with IPAs.

I was hanging out with my sister's dog who, well, is pretty dumb. I was in the TV room downstairs and the doge sits on the top of the stairs looking out of the window in the room I'm in. He starts growling and making these semi-barking sounds and I look outside, there's a guy in the neighbor's yard and I think nothing of it. The dog however keeps growling and suddenly runs down the stairs and to the window and jumps, thinking he's gonna go attack the dude outside. He bangs against the window glass and falls to the floor and then quickly runs back up the stairs in shame. I laughed in tears for a good 5 minutes.

I went to go pick up some Real3d Hobbit glasses at bestbuy earlier today. After I picked them up me and the missus got on the road to travel to the only theater showing the movie in HFR. On our way there we nearly got into a major accident. I'm glad I'm a confident driver, cause what I had to do was something straight out of a video game. We were on a 4 lane wide highway with a 5th lane for traffic getting off onto a street. I was in lane 1 the outside most lane and saw the pile up so did a mini cooper who was on a 6th lane that was closing into the 5th lane. So I slowed down to let the mini in and looked for a clearing to get into the next lane. In this time a slower vehicle that was behind me decided to follow my moves in getting into the 3rd lane. They suddenly and without notice decided to get into the 2nd lane and pass me and then they got into the 5th lane to get off the freeway. They weren't prepared for the sudden stop in traffic and pushed into the 4th and 3rd lane. I had to quickly move into the 2nd lane only to have them bump me into the 1st lane. It almost put us into a spin, but I was able to straighten out and get control. The car that hit us spun out and hit the center divider and then bounced right back to us and hit us on the driver side. I tried to avoid it but I would have gone straight into stopped traffic If I did. It was intense and I damn near shit myself, I'm glad I just got my brakes done last night.

Funny thing was when Roxanne saw this car before it was on the freeway she noticed they were driving badly. She warned me to stay away from them, but fate had it we'd be bumping each other in just a few minutes. We didn't make the movie but I don't care we are safe and that's all that matters.

Today has been strange as hell. I took the car in to a repair shop to see what could be done about the exterior damage from what happened this weekend. When my cousin from Arizona comes walking in asking about his vehicle. I don't have that many cousins and none of them have family here so it was strange to see him here. Even stranger is the women he was with is not his wife and he and her were quite close. I didn't wish to ask, but as our conversation continued on you could tell there was something going on between the two. I didn't have a ride back home since they are going to work on the car a bit, and so he offered me a ride back home and took me out for lunch. We hit up a local brewhouse and had a few drinks and some lunch. As the day got longer and longer it became clearer that he and this woman are in an extramarital affair. So I just came out and asked if they met on ashleymadison.com or something. And got this quick laugh from both of them, before they answered that they met up on some cheating app. This guy is a good guy I've known him all my life and he has a great family with two kids that are relatively young. I hate being put into these type of moral situations, but I can't help but feel a responsibility to tell his wife. On facebook it shows that he's supposed to be on business in freaking LA not here. On one hand I feel like telling her, but on the other It's his personal life and I don't feel it's my place to say anything or ruin his life. I've never once thought about cheating in my relationship and I just don't understand it.

Car will be fixed up sometime next week though, and my rental is gonna be here later tonight. I rented a Mustang, not out of choice but because it was all they had available to pick up today. The last time I got behind the wheel of one of these I didn't want to get out. We'll see if I feel that way again later today.

I remember why I went to private school was due to bullying. I only later realized that it might have been caused cause I was inviting the bullying by my behavior and how I acted. To take it one step further, if G's fiancée (whom he insists on calling "wife," as if to cement the relationship artificially) were institutionalized for her illness, would any of the caregiving physicians or nurses at the facility accept fry-pan abuse as an acceptable means to cure her? Would they allow themselves to be hit at all? No.

To me, G's willingness to accept this behavior from her not only delays his fiancée's treatment, but also speaks to the denial G harbors toward his own mental health.

I have sympathy for women being abused by men, however I have none for men who are physically abused by women. I suppose that is sexist. I'm not suggesting that G or any man should violently defend himself (unless his life is being threatened of course). But the idea of a man allowing his wife or girlfriend to throw frying pans at him, lock him out of his own house, slap him in the face, demean him to his face, etc...I can't respect that.

Ultimately G's willingness to accept this behavior strikes me more as him feeling he can't find anyone else who will accept him - be it due to his weight or something else. G is smart, funny, and pretty loving based on his willingness to help multiple EBers. Why he stays with a vindictive, ugly person who mentally and physically abuses him is beyond me.

That is a great deal.  I might buy this.  As a heads up, if you see the comments on the box set on the Amazon reviews talking about how hard it is to get the DVDs out, they are talking about the 2009 series set.  Some dumbass at Fox designed this really nice elaborate box set but it made it next to impossible to actually get the discs out without scratching the discs or tearing into the box set itself.  Really unfortunate.
