So for the past month I've been in and out of the hospital due to acute pancreatitis caused by an infected gallbladder. I'm feeling a bit better but the last few weeks have been up and down. They got me a surgery next month to remove the infected tissue and I was told I should be out and good by the time PAX south rolls around. I've lost a lot of weight almost 40 pounds in the last month due to the infection and not being able to eat regularly. The duct system is fucked up by a stone the side of a walnut.

Farina was so bad you'd have to find a way to either throw it away without being caught or make it slightly edible by dumping butter into the bowl. Grits were cool - throw some cheese on top and you had a nice bowl of hot stuff. Oatmeal was cool - I used to put a variety of stuff in mine. But farina/cream of wheat had no redeeming qualities and no alternative way to prepare it decently.

Cream of Wheat used to be my favorite. I liked it more than oatmeal. I think it doesn’t have much nutritional value. I’m guessing there’s not even much fiber in it, since it’s been milled so thoroughly as to remove any trace of brown.

Been working on a commercial for my company. I've done a lot of stuff in my career but making a commercial is very different from anything I've done. Especially with my "We'll do it live!" kind of style. You get one shot and it has to be perfect. That's not my thing. Even when I was a musician I never practiced the day of a concert because I wanted the performance to be as genuine and free flowing as possible. I gotta say I've earned a respect for commercial makers.

With sugar and milk, Cream of Wheat is god-tier. It actually has a ton of folic acid, you know, just in case you get knocked up Chrono. I think there are a few other nutritional benefits, but yea, fiber content is out the window.

Oatmeal is my runner up, with brown sugar and a little milk, cinnamon and nutmeg. It helps increase your breastmilk supply too! I ate it daily for a year after having the kiddo. Surprised I ever want to eat it again honestly.

I made one just last week. A slow cooker is the best method. Try and get the most marbled cut of meat you can find. Sear it brown in a skillet on both sides. Now rub in a spice mix. I like something that uses onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and a bit of salt.

Make a little bed of onions and diced potatoes at the bottom of the crock pot, then put the roast in, then cover it the rest of your onions and potatoes and whatever vegetables (I don't really like cooked carrots, but almost everyone else includes them). Now you need some kind of liquid. A lot of people use beef stock. I didn't have any, nor did I have beef bouillon cubes, so I just used chicken broth, and it came out great.
