scott brooks is easily the most inept coach in the nba

morris has been closing out games the entire season while getting 25 mins or so off the bench while our starting center thomas bryant, who has been balling the fuck out and most importantly moving on both sides of the court and being able to guard the pnr, was getting only 15 mins . well moriss finally fouls out and bryant is fucking BALLING as expected from some amazing pnrs from beal. moriss has a box score of -9 for the game while bryant has a +9

but watch, this performance will change NOTHING

fuck brooks, and especially fuck eg

I don't know about good, but there was one year when they both made the playoffs, and both got eliminated by the Seven Seconds Or Less Suns.

It was the one playoff year with Elton Brand, when they'd traded for Sam Cassell. With Corey Maggette and a pre-injury Shaun Livingston. Was also the year Kobe scored 35 a game and played with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

Also the Jabari Parker saga is a top five Bulls nonsense saga this season.

Honestly, he gone.

Pels need to act accordingly. Wait til the offseason when Boston can trade and start the bidding war.

I just hope Gayle doesn't half ass it like her husband had been doing. But I get the sneaking suspicion we are going to drastically overpay to bring in someone before the deadline that isn't going to be enough to keep Davis and then wait to fire Demps until he has damn near sold off every asset we have as a last ditch effort to save his skin and embarrassment.

Harden averaged 36 points a game as Houston went 10-4 in December.  He's averaged 41 ppg in their last ten as they've gone 9-1. With Chris Paul missing like half of those or more.

Capela's also been in BEAST MODE: 17/15.5 over those ten games.

And down goes Thibodeau.

Everybody was waiting for that domino to drop forever.

Lakers without Lebron, Kuzma, and Rondo are understandably free falling.

Lonzo might have a capable NBA career but he's looking more and more like he will never be anything but an average NBA player.  And Brandon Ingram simply hasn't taken the step this season that most people thought he was capable of. He's playing worse for whatever reason than he did last season rather than improving.

Chandler Parsons' career with the Memphis Grizzlies is likely over, with the two sides agreeing to a separation on Sunday, league sources told ESPN.

Parsons will leave Memphis as the organization and his agent, James Dunleavy of ISE Sports, work to structure a resolution on Parsons' future, sources said.

Parsons, 30, is owed $38 million on his original four-year, $94 million maximum contract, including $25.1 million for the 2019-20 season.

The sides will work to find a trade for Parsons, sources said. The Grizzlies haven't shown a willingness to include a first-round draft pick to move Parsons' deal but have been open to accepting a longer-term contract for him, league sources said. The team still believes Parsons will have value as an expiring contract, even if it takes into the offseason to make a deal.

The final disagreement that led to Parsons leaving the team and city -- perhaps permanently -- has been centered around the circumstances of a possible G League assignment.

Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace wanted Parsons to play several games with the Grizzlies' G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, before deciding on returning Parsons to the active roster with the Grizzlies, sources said.

Parsons has been willing to play games with the G League affiliate but wanted a clearer plan and a timetable in place that would return him to the Grizzlies' active roster, league sources said.

The Cleveland Cavaliers waived guard Patrick McCaw on Sunday, one week after signing him to two-year, $6 million non-guaranteed deal.

McCaw, 23, played in three games with Cleveland. The Cavaliers had to make a decision by Monday to keep McCaw on their roster at a prorated $3 million for the rest of the season.

The Cavaliers got McCaw after the Warriors declined to match an offer sheet last week.

Quote
Former NBA player Hedo Turkoglu, now a chief adviser to the president of Turkey, says comments by Enes Kanter about the country are nothing more than an ongoing "political smear campaign" by the New York Knicks center.

Kanter last week said he would not travel with the Knicks to London for a game against the Washington Wizards on Jan. 17 because he fears for his life because of his ongoing clash with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
wait, why is Hedo a chief adviser to Erdogan?

Quote
Kanter told reporters at the Knicks' shootaround Monday in Portland that Turkoglu likely was being told to say those things.

"It's probably not [Turkoglu], but the president making him say it," Kanter told reporters. "If you look at his Twitter, it's German, English and Turkish. It's three languages, and he doesn't even know German. They're probably making him do it. He's kind of like his puppy dog. Lap dog is better. He probably got so much money for that."

A Knicks team official said last week that Kanter wouldn't travel to London because of a visa issue, but Kanter on Monday said that was incorrect.

"They don't understand the conversation and it's very confusing," said Kanter, who posted a photo of a travel document on Twitter. "It's not a visa issue. ... I have a travel document.... I can travel."

Kanter reportedly was indicted by the Istanbul Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau last year because of "hurtful and humiliating" comments made about Turkoglu, the president of the Turkish Basketball Federation, on social media.

I can't seem to figure out exactly what Hedo is advising about other than taking shots at Kanter. :idont

A bundle of rumors came out about the Mavs trying to move Dennis Smith Jr., so now they're apparently having meetings to smooth things over. Smith apparently has demanded a trade though. Mavs were looking to deal him because they don't think he and Doncic can play together long term as he forces Doncic off the ball.

Brooklyn Nets forward/center Kenneth Faried has agreed to a contract buyout, clearing the way for him to sign a free-agent deal with the Houston Rockets
Quote
The Rockets are aggressively working to find a trade for the exiled Carmelo Anthony before Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline to clear a roster spot for Faried, league sources said. The Rockets will need to trade a player to a team with an open roster spot, or waive a player

The cleanest solution to the Rockets clearing a roster spot without a trade is releasing James Nunnally five days early from his 10-day contract.
i would think the cleanest solution would be to just waive Melo?

just messing with the trade machine a bit, there's not really a huge amount of great deals out there to make with Davis going to a "contender" (I included the two LA teams), especially since he makes $25 million

it's weird because he's one of the greatest players in the league, but I'm unsure if many of these teams would send their best asset for him, I think the Lakers would now deal Ingram for anything unlike last summer, but the Clippers wouldn't want to send Harris, and then you can't really make a compelling package, that's similar with a number of the other teams

it'd be kinda fun for the Raptors to put together a full fledged one-year one-shot mercenary squad targeted at the Warriors I suppose

The Pels have no need to rush into trading him IMO.

Hopefully they just sit on it and let the market build itself.

You can't really get Boston into the mix unless they trade Kyrie, otherwise there are Rose rule implications that prevent anything before the summer....Which the Pels hopefully are open to letting this drag into if nothing lucrative pops up since Boston as of right now seems like the bidder with the most to offer.

If nothing else though, Loomis better have Demps' separation papers drafted up by the end of the week. If he is the guy that gets to rebuild his own mess I might just be done with two sports in one season.

It does seem like an odd time to do this, less than two weeks before the deadline makes it even more unlikely for teams that aren't the Lakers to actually carve up their rosters. Now you've got a Dwightmare type situation where the best player has suggested he's already given up on the season or trying to make a playoff run pretty much.

He asked for a trade earlier today apparently and they decided to do it immediately, this is the package that sources were saying they were offering New Orleans for Davis but I wonder if that was some confusion now.
Quote
The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a trade with the New York Knicks for All-Star forward Kristaps Porzingis, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday.

The trade also includes the Knicks sending Courtney Lee and Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Mavericks in return for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan, league sources told Wojnarowski. The deal may also include draft assets, sources said.
Quote
Earlier Thursday, Porzingis met with Knicks meeting and left franchise officials with the impression that he wanted to be traded, league sources told ESPN.

Porzingis can be a restricted free agent this summer.

There's been a strong disconnect between Porzingis and Knicks management in recent years, and it culminated in Thursday's meeting. He expressed concerns on the state of the franchise and his future with the organization, sources said.
Quote
Porzingis and his brother Janis, who is his agent, met with Knicks management on Thursday morning and discussed his frustration with the franchise's losing, its past dysfunction and his own uncertainty over creating sustainable organizational success, sources said.

They basically punted the expiring Jordan contract (and half of Matthews) a year by taking on Lee and Hardaway Jr. who will make $31 million next year. The latter is also on the books for $19 million the year after, so they'll need Powell and Barnes' expiring to get the full effect of what would have been the Matthews/Jordan expiring this offseason.

They should be able to fit in...say Anthony Davis because Barnes, Powell and Lee all expire that summer.
