Ooooooh fuck. I just spent way too much saved 60 bucks. Yeah, that's the ticket. I saved 60 bucks.

Now that's a Christmas gift to myself that I can live with. Awesome. If anyone needs me, I'll be over yonder, cackling like a madman.

Finally, the Icewind Dales, and the Baldurs Gates, and Planescape Torment, and Advent Rising, and... :dizzy

I bet most of you don't care, but XIII is now on GoG. I think it's safe to say this is the best version of the game, since it does away with the ridiculous disc-swapping that the PC version once had and it looks better than any console version.

Following recent video game trends the title will offer a very short and linear story. Almost no gameplay whatsoever and twenty launch DLCs, including a special pink banjo (normally obtainable by finishing a game) and a unicorn mount, will have you stuck in front of your computer screen for minutes. Check out the announcement trailer below and visit http://www.saviors-of-queens.com for even less details.

Planescape has great characters, great writing, great story, and great setting. You don't play it for the combat.

Sounds like I'll love it. I'll get to it sometime after Baldur's Gate.

The combat in Planescape Torment will make you bow down and praise Jesus, after pulling your teeth out one at a time playing through Baldur's Gate.

My first thought was The Dig, but that's already on Steam so I don't know if they'd make a big deal about it.

Looks like it is LucasArts.  I guess EA is being stubborn as usual and would rather sit on their classic titles instead of earning a bit of extra revenue.

EA
Take 2
Square Enix
LucasArts
Microsoft Game Studios

GOG has signed a deal with one of those publishers and has 25 games in the pipeline and they are close to signing deals with two more.

Alone in the Dark trilogy for $6 is pretty tempting, but I've still got the first two on CD and it isn't that hard to get them to run in Dosbox.

Isn't the third one supposed to be the best one though?

I think the first one's the best. It was all HP Lovecraft and haunted house stuff. Then the second one had ghost pirates, and the third one was like zombie cowboys.

We’ve come to the conclusion that there are a number of issues with using a customer’s IP address to determine what offer they are being presented with from GOG.com. A good number of users can find themselves negatively impacted by a policy of using geo IP to set their region.

For example, customers may be travelling when they want to purchase or download a game from GOG.com. In this case, automatic IP address capture might change the price or the content of the game they’re ordering (such as the default language of the installer). Further, geo IP data collection is not always right. IP addresses are not a perfect or unique identifier of location, and can report the incorrect region of users, particularly ones who are not using standard Internet connections. Finally, we’re always very sensitive of our users’ privacy. Effective privacy protections for our users means that any data that we don’t need to collect, we shouldn’t. We only need to know the country that you’re making this purchase from, so although we originally planned to use geo-IP to determine user’s location, we’ve decided to trust our users and let them inform us as to the correct region for their purchase.

Any of you who are having problems with your country’s location (and the offer you're presented with) can update this by going to ”My Account” and clicking on “Account & Settings."

The change is now live on GOG.com and will effect all current purchases and preorders.

EDIT: We'll update the privacy policy on our website to reflect this tomorrow, because we're having caching problems with it today. rest assured, the new changes are in effect even if the page doesn't show it.

The Witcher is now on GoG and is on sale for $5

I'm actually considering rebuying this drm-free version.  More convenient than walking twelve feet to my shelf and grabbing my boxed copy.

my boxed copy has sat on my shelf for months now as a reminder to replay it before the witcher 2 is released.  yeah, that never happened.

The game starts out really slow, but it picks up quite a bit once you finally get to Vizima. It's well worth having going back to and finishing up.

Great. I have no gaming-capable PC right now.
GOG has started their preload phase for the Witcher 2. Shows up as 60 Dollahs. At least you get one of those five bonus games and 16 USD store credit and TW2... Not sure if good deal or not.

Ah fuck it. Come to daddy, you sweet waste of money. Let me ogle you in my library.  :-[

Huh, I 'pre-ordered' The Witcher 2 ages ago and it's showing up for $45 on my GoG... Pretty sure that's USD, and I know they adjust the price based on your region so maybe it's cheaper outside US? You can manually adjust your region now so I guess try that to get a cheaper price. I'm going to buy it either today or tomorrow. Still haven't finished the first one either :lol

Considering you can manually change you region to whatever you want at GoG surely the pricing issue isn't a big deal... Just change your region to US or whatever.

I remember all the hype it got. The tech they used made it so you couldn't see the seams on the polygons. At the time the character models were very impressive. It was hyped to high heaven then just disappeared. I never knew it was even released until GoG got it lol.

Isn't that the one where you could hijack other NPCs by putting your soul in them? I was also curious about this, Geist, and Mindjack -- all variations on a similar theme. I think there's a GTA-style game to be made around this kind of thing.
