Quest for Glory 1-5 for $2.49 is a bargain. Used disc versions will still cost you $60+ on Amazon.

You can only get it for $2.50 is you buy all those collections together, otherwise it's $5 if you buy it separately.

That D&D pack is a pretty good deal, but I bought a similar pack off Gamersgate earlier this year for...$15, I want to say?

XIII (ubisoft's cel-shaded fps game from the ps2-era) will be removed from GoG after 2012.

If for some reason you wanted it, it's on sale for $3: http://www.gog.com/gamecard/xiii

It's based on some euro-comic, so it's probably a licensing deal which ran out.

i'm curious if it will hold up or if it's one of those things people love more due to nostalgia

I played through the whole thing just a few years ago [and this was the first time I'd ever really played it] and it was great. Still really intense.

ok that's good news at least

i've picked up some games on gog which I've missed and people have raved about and they turn out to be fairly ehhhhh

thankfully they're still really inexpensive so i can just dip in and out and not feel ripped off or anything

Holds up well imo. It's a pretty polished experience overall. Complexer and less streamlined than modern games but without the jankyness of many older pc games.

Surprising since system shock 2 was one of the most wanted games but legal or technical reasons, or both, made it seem like a long shot.  The NOLF series is another big one.

i haven't played it since it first came out

i'm curious if it will hold up or if it's one of those things people love more due to nostalgia

it holds up as well as deus ex and thief, and falls between them in terms of accessibility (deus ex being the most accessible, imo).

Clearly GoG needs to release the game in playable state for it to be sold, but I don't know if they said what method they'll use.  Either way, the current best way to play it in terms of compatibility is the patch found on some french forum last year.

edit: ha, I guess that RPS story answers most of this

Well one guy of the magazine I read back than was also a translator for Lucafilm/Arts adventures (he later went on to become the german Major Nelson in the Xbox360 days), so I think they were kinda biased against other adventure games, Sierra adventures were also always 20 points worse than LucasArts adventures.
