lmao at a so many gaffers simping this chick and believing her sob story about being some sort of virgin on a jillion meds who dudes call ugly
Oh yeah. Leeness's shtick and her dick satellites are pretty annoying.

I remember telling a gaffer flat out not to try and console her because A) he wasn't her psychiatrist and B) she's an attention... seeker. Actually a better term would be a "psychic vampire" as the LaVeyan Satanists would say because she feeds off the help and attention of others and does nothing with it but feed her broken ego.

The NY rent seems ridiculously high for what they're giving you even if it's in the city.

I'll never understand the "LOL, you pay that much to live there!?" pissing match between city and rural/suburban living. Different people have different needs. Sometimes, I wish I lived in the big city. Alternatively, I like owning a home with a back yard my kid can run around in at an affordable price. The cost for that though is no public transit and nothing worthwhile in walking distance. There are pros and cons to either.

Yeah, I pay what I pay in Boston because I don't want to own a car. Public transportation makes up the extra cost of living IMO.

To be serious though I think a lot of that comes from people who have never been in one or the other. They don't really fathom life in any other possible way or that there's degrees of it in places like say, Denver. (And even in the NYC area itself.) And there's that sense of defensive pride of the "culture" of home even if they aren't really part of it. Like people from Cleveland and their symphony. Or people from Detroit and their abandoned buildings and never reconstructed empty lots. Or Flint and its unemployment, crime and murder statistics.

I have a cousin who moved to NYC because his hometown was too small and didn't have a "cultural mass" big enough to support "meaningful art." He had like all these catalogs and brochures and stuff from NYC museums and art galleries, etc. he would take with him everywhere and just look at them all the time and talk about what exhibits were there. One time he was listing a few things showing at some gallery and said "meanwhile, back home in Houston, the fucking rodeo and circus are in town!"

I wonder if he actually ever goes to any of that stuff.

Western cities you can get a bit of both worlds especially in the Bay Area. Move out to say East Bay, commute in at your leisure. Also the part of Portland I'm in is really chill.

The hilarious thing about these fucking nerds and hipsters is that they label anyone who wears skinny jeans and horn rimmed glasses to be a hipster when MOST people are rocking a variation of this kind of crap. These clothes have been mainstream for fucking years and they'd realize that if they bothered to pay attention to other people's goddamn clothing palette. It's like calling people who wore acid washed torn jeans and starter jackets in the 90's hipsters. fucking imbeciles.

lol no shit... people whining about the 'skinny jeans trend' in 2013 is beyond sad. this shit was the mainstream fashion in 2002. now of course since shit rolls downhill hot topic sells 2 cent stretchy black jean blobs and now everyone uses that manure as a reference point.

A bunch of the fashion isn't even bad it's the people who'd look shit in it. I didn't mind skinny jeans but dudes sagged them too or would get some that were not complimentary to their body. But it's not like people wearing nonskinny jeans get proper fitting jeans either.

True. I mean skinny jeans were already popular via skateboarding crowd and punks. Then it just became more mainstream. Like with most fashion it just became "i see it everywhere therefore it's bad."

I really like the look of skinny or straight leg jeans. This flare shit sucks unless they're bell bottoms. Skinny flares are cool though.

One thing I hate about the hate hipster movement is how they shit on legitimately cool stuff like the beard movement. If men feel good growing a beard, so long as it is well maintained, let em. FUCK.

I like straight or slightly tapered through the knee jeans; from the front it mirrors the general silhouette of dress pants. too tapered ends up making your butt/thigh look giant if you have any muscle haha.

flared dress pants, however...  :-* :-* :-* :-* especially with formal ensemble.

beards take effort (to look not shit). effort on surface appearance = time away from videogames/stupid vanity.

you can apply this to most things on gaf.

parallax: skinny jeans are mostly worn by women. read some article the other day in a fashion section of a site that's like SKINNY JEANS ARE HERE TO STAY, IS A CLASSIC CUT NOW no shit girl. Watch what the women you pass by wear. More often than not, if they're in jeans, it's skinny. Makes putting on tall boots easier, accentuates curves, looks good with a lot of shoes, and is comfortable.
