a little late sorry
to be honest mass effect games are like westernized jrpgs in the first place
that's why they're called
wrpgs?
that's the same as saying 'Tales Of' games are like nipponese wrpgs
it's just an empty statement
pretty much all gamers are fuckers and hypocrites - myself included. Ain't nothing wrong with playing weeaboo shit, Mass Effect is just as gay and embarrassing, but niqquaz on forums seem to think that if it's homo fantasy shit from a western country it's all good. By this logic anyone who hates on Persona for the Japanese music and shit, is actually RACIST

Word
Mass effect is equally as gay and equally as awesome as persona. They both have similar priorities.
Hell, ME2 is essentially FF6 in space
People don't hate on Persona because of anything inherently Japanese about it - the one I played, P3, I found rather boring. Rather I think, people who like it, like it because of it's otaku Japanese trappings. Otherwise I don't see the appeal. It's certainly isn't the battle system or story.
ME2 is enjoyable space opera pulp. Similarities with it and Persona are purely superficial though, ie, they both share a conversation system, plot points and companions. Doesn't matter, just because I like ME2 doesn't mean I have to like P3. There's more differences than similarities between them.

Right, and Persona 3 is just Die Hard set in Japan. But action movie fans, like bioware fans, are the worst - they're unable to see the similarities. They both share the same plot -- dude has to make way through tower, defeating bad guys on the way - except Die Hard features more explosions and bad German accents.
Although in Die Hard, the protagonist isn't a neurotic teenager who believes he sees demons at night, and must collect emo-pokeman cards to defeat said demons and save the world. And all the while studying and trying to make friends at school, not to forget helping strange old men and little girls reconcile with their families in his spare time.
In fact, watching Die Hard is just experiencing P3 in a condensed form, without much of the boring filler bits in P3 like eating ramen with that lonely fat kid, or taking Yukari to the movies so you can make your emo-pokemen evolve/fuse better to fight terrists/demons.
