TDK is a good movie but it's dry. A lot of the action sequences are not good. The entire last part of the movie (from the part The Joker escapes and Two-Faces shows up) is a complete misfire.

Time and distance from the release has not been good to it. If given the choice, I would watch BB over TDK.

Focus on Batman is my reason, personally. TDK is fantastic though, I'm not trying to put it down. I just like BB better. I also think BB is more rewatchable.

I think TDK knocks BB's shit sideways, honestly. You can bring up TDK's action scenes, but BB had considerably WORSE action scenes. Shaky cam lalapalooza. At least TDK has Joker shooting bazookas at police cars and Batman flipping over trucks.

TDK reminds me of Gangs of New York in that both Ledger & Daneil Day-Lewis played their roles so well it made up for other shortcomings the films had.

that car chase was really bad. poorly directed and edited. the tumbler chase in BB was better.

Well Christian Bale was better in Begins, Batman was above and beyond the one in TDK. I liked how "gritty" it was compared to TDK too. I like TDK more, having my two favorite characters of all time(Batman and The Joker) kind of helps it. I also do think that a lot of flack given to TDK isn't that bad at all, be it fanboy bias or not.

I think Bale's "batman voice" is awful in TDK

I thought Batman Begins was one of the most over-rated comic book movies I've ever seen.

I didn't see the second one until relatively recently and even with all the hype I still thought it was a good movie.

But then I'm also not generally much of a fan of comic book movies.

BB is not a good film. TDK is entertaining as hell, mainly due to the Joker. Yea the end sucks, but the second act is so awesome it makes up for it. Good movie. Overrated heavily by internet nerds, but you can't deny it has its moments.

The reason why I like TDK better is simply for the Joker. He plays the part so well that you give a pass to some of the bad/boring parts without him. If it would have been anyone other than Heath Ledger playing the Joker I can guarantee the movie wouldn't have been so high praised.

I had the worst theater experience watching BB; A brat on his second viewing was sitting next to me and spoiled the entire movie while talking to his friend, a group of douchebags that were sitting in other people's seats were requested to go back to theirs 20 minutes into the movie (there was a heated, distracting discussion), and finally I accidentally spilled my jumbo caramel popcorn onto the guy sitting in front of me. I freaked out, appologized at least 7 times, and left for the bathroom for at least 15 minutes.

I should rewatch it some time. Right now it is a pile of shit by association.

My worse theater experience is probably taking my little brothers and their distinguished mentally-challenged friend to see Ang Lee's Hulk. Their friend kept yelling out "WHERE'S HULK? IS THIS THE HULK MOVIE?" and I'd be like "Nicholas, be quiet, he'll be on the screen soon enough..."

then of course, it takes forever for Hulk to actually appear in the movie. So Nicholas whispers as loud as possible "I have to go pee, tell me when Hulk comes on the screen." Considering he did not own a cell phone, I'm guessing he expected someone to run into the bathroom and inform him that yes, Hulk was on the screen.

TDK suffers from a villain capable of implausible feats/foresight (enough to detract from the experience) and some REALLY corny dialogue. BB has melodramatic shit too but it tied in with the origin mythos stuff (using fear, why do we fall bruce?, etc) so its kinda excuseable.

I still like both movies and no other superhero movie has crafted such a compelling rendition of a character. The Spiderman movies are terrible trash by comparison. But BB>TDK fosho. And c'mon. Joker has ALWAYS been awesome. The scarecrow was a very creative interpretation and the fear gas fx were sweet.
