Embarrassing that gaf can't even have real debate about the issue. It's just "OMG I NEED TO SELL MY USED GAMES AND BUY USED ONES ALL THE TIME TO LIVE; THIS MAN SHOULD DIE"
I think there are definitely arguments on both sides. It's interesting how steam is a platform with no used game sales, where you can't resell games you've beaten and you can't buy games used; yet it's also highly successful, people love it, and the average steam user buys tons of games on it.
I could support a steam-like environment on consoles if they matched steam feature for feature, meaning constant sales and price drops over time. I mean that's really the
fair solution to everyone: instead of used games there should just be official price drops every 3-6 months until the game is $10-20. The people screaming they can't afford to pay more than $40 for a brand new game, can certainly wait 3-6 months and play it at a later time when it hits the price range they want and then the developer/publisher still gets the sale at a lower amount.
