yeah, I guess the boxes were bigger to stand out on store shelves in America, but they always seemed so wasteful.  I think the only gamecube software with a Japanese style case was the gameplay player.

Vita game cases are around the same size, and still very wasteful for the dime sized carts.

Most of my games are third party, yes. I just prefer Gamecube. Those little discs are so cute.

I really liked the GameCube controller (especially Wavebird). The button positioning looked weird, but it felt pretty good when you were using it.

outside of the obviously shit d-pad and the small right analog, my only issue with the wavebird was the amount of throw on the triggers. It was a really good controller over all. Out of it's contemporaries, only the duke (pbuh) was better.

Wii >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GameCube > N64

Didn't even have to think for a second.

Eh no.

The GameCube is one of the most underrated consoles ever. Nintendo's lineup for it was fantastic and I've enjoyed more than 30 games on that system that I kept replaying over and over. The N64 was greatness, its best games were some of the best games of all time. The two Zelda's, the two Banjo's, DK64, Mario 64, best Mario Kart, best Star Fox, pretty cool F-Zero, Golden-Eye, Turok, Conker, Diddy Kong Racing, Super Smash Bros., The greatest wrestling games off all time and others have occupied a lot of my time during the 32-bit/64-bit era.

The Wii is definitely the worst by far, and I don't even hate it. I love MadWorld and the No More Heroes games, not the biggest fan of Galaxy but Galaxy 2 was omg, Skyword Sword was great, and so was Metroid Prime 3. But That is about it. It also had the worst Mario Kart ever, Brawl was decent but not on the level of Melee, worst Metroid ever, worst pokemon games ever, and a lot of great franchises were nowhere to be seen. DKCR was the only good game to be released for the wii since Galaxy and skyward sword was the last good game released since DKCR. The drought was horrible.

Dude, Xenoblade.

Wii also had a return to Kirby's roots, Overkill which is God tier lightgunning, Monster Hunter Tri, Brawl was easily better than Melee. Just admit you're a blind Wii hater dude. GC had a couple standouts, but Wii easily had a higher amount of third party exclusives and I don't even know how its debatable that the first part output was several orders of.magnitude greater.

I love gamecube and still find it severely underrated as a system. It is also a point in time where Nintendo did some things different and people bitched, so when I hear people bitch now about Nintendo just doing the same thing, I realize they're bitch-prone bitches that are full of shit.

It's not something that anyone really thinks about now, but the 4 controller ports on the N64 was such an amazing thing at the time. It's hard to beat those late nights with you and 3 friends huddled around the TV, laughing and yelling over another round of Goldeneye, Mario Party, or Smash Bros.

i have fond memories of the N64. not playing it so much, but there was a discount center (Bud's) that had ten dollar games. I'd spend all the money I had buying as many as I could, then beg for a ride to toys'r'us, which gave me 30-40 GEOFFRY BUX. I used that to support the old habit, although strangely didn't get a 64 until way late in because a good friend right up the road had it, and I thought it sucked.

i like Jumping Flash! (and sequel) more than Mario 64, although I was BLOWN AWAY by Waverace...and Goemon 64 for some reason.  :lol

Transgendered goes beyond physical surgery, it is hormonal and even mental. Most transgender people have not had any surgeries done in fact

I'm guilty of using the word cheeseburger, often in porn discussions. I don't use it to be offensive, and while I'd never say it irl or post it on GAF, I'll probably continue using it here when talking about certain things.

The TG thing still seems to be too immature in its handling of the complexities and complications it creates. It (it being the issues of the movement) still hovers around the gendered bathroom issue. You have young women warned about rape and somewhat indoctrinated into a fear of male sexuality. You then try to push for TG-sensitive bathrooms where you have males going into Women's restrooms. You can't just throw those two things together and tell everyone to shutup and understand.

I've also seen people start mixing gender and sex when the two are separate things. There are regions of the world where there are three genders. We have the TG movement because of our binary gender culture. Transgendered is not a universal thing. The whole LGBT movement isn't really universal. In regions of the world where there's a third or multiple genders to account for males who identify with a feminine identity and who seek males romantically, the relationship is still somewhat Boy/Girl in its viewing and not a gay/homosexual relationship in an American understanding of those words.

So I never understood why we don't just expand our gender understandings instead of deciding to chop our dicks off because you/I/we think "female".  And by god, there's the other weird half. This supposes that there are female mental states and male mental states. This supposes significant mental differences between sexes that need to be aligned via surgical matters for the sake of the patient.

So the TG argument seems to ask that others accept the idea that men and women do think differently and are biologically wired in their brain a different way. It also then asks that gender and sex needs to be aligned surgically for the health of the person. I am not exactly sure either of those things are correct, both in my experience and in the eyes of science.

Here Chaz Bono tries to explain it to Letterman, but it really doesn't get explained. Chaz tries to explain sexuality as who you are attracted to, but then later qualifies it as the sex of the person and the sex of what you're attracted to. In a first world sense, sexuality is judged by the sexes of the two involved. So it's weird when Chaz says he made the mistake of thinking he was a lesbian, because the truth was she was a lesbian at the time. It can't be both the ways that Chaz speaks of it as. At least in a cultural sense.

And then there's the nonsense of where Chaz speaks about becoming more aggressive and forceful since the transition to being male, as though being a jackass is part of being male. So it's that gender stereotypes as real truths mentality that disturbs me. Not that Chaz speaks for the whole movement, but the interview reflects the way the whole thing is a mess of contradictions that seem to get passed over with a gay pride flag waved back and forth.

I am upset by the gender stereotyping and genderism that seems to lay with the whole TG movement. I figured that we'd be escaping from strict gender roles by now. I'm male, but I long ago stopped thinking that I had to think and act like a man. Parts of the TG movement seem a real step back in this department. I just point it out because it feels weird to see it overlooked.

And you wonder why we make fun of the nintards at gaf when you post stuff like the bolded. There's no such thing as a blind Wii hater. I was excited to buy it, I'm a big Nintendo fan, and it was a disappointment. I loved every Nintendo console before that, so I wasn't looking to hate it.

Xenoblade is pretty fun, I like it. But that doesn't change the fact that the Wii is my least favorite console of this generation. I never cared about third party exclusives, despite the higher number of third party exclusives ask yourself how many of them are actually good? exactly.

I'm sorry, saying you definitely won't ever 100% sure won't buy Nintendo's next console because of the Wii, even when it isn't even out nor have any first party games been announced for it (outside maybe NSMBMii) is the definition of blind. You'd have to be precognizant to say, definitively, that for the next five years, no matter what the console offers, you won't buy it.

You've regressed into an even bigger fanboy than I used to be.

Actually, in the eyes of science, the first thing is well-supported (I'd almost go as far as to call it a fact), and the second thing, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone in the mental health field/research area that would disagree with it.

You're free to question it and disagree with it, but don't drag science in to support your side.  It doesn't.  I know you feel strongly about this so I don't intend on getting into a long dragged out discussion about it, but I suggest you read up on your journals and related studies before you invoke the ol' "ess-see is backing me" bit.

From what I had read, the only differences found between males and females mentally is that males have some more inclination towards spatial reasoning.

edit: Ah, I see. There are certain physical differences in areas and some processing differences in those tested with regards to language and math and spatial processing early on in development. This still falls way short of qualifying something like "My mind is a woman's mind." or "I think like a man." when that sort of thing depends a lot on what a people say how a man/woman thinks and not any purely natural product of the two sexes.

At least in cultural studies, there a a lot of supporters of the idea that gender and sex don't have to be perfectly aligned. As Etioliate said in his other post, there a cultures that support more then roles then male and female, for example many native american people have a 3 or 4 gender identities (in addition to homosexual orientation).

As for the first thing,it might be a fact that man and woman on average think differently/have a different "hard wiring" in the brain, but that does not exclude that some man are nearer in thinking and brains tructure to the average woman and vice versa.

This Devo dude is a pretty exhausting Internet case. I'm so sick of hearing about what he's doing/not doing and him showing only to fan those petty flames.

Leprosy for everyone, please.

He sang "Whip It" and that was a pretty good song, so I'll give Devo a pass.

Sorny fans going berserk because a Sorny fan somehow got the impression that this is going to 3DS as well and the Vita version was suffering for it.  Who's fault is this?  Who do you think.

I mostly see everyone jumping on the guy for being a ninny and thinking a port is actually possible.

Why is it that a game being multiplat is the highest form of heresy to fanboys?

Sometimes people have legit concerns about the game being developed with the lowest platform in mind. Mostly it's just fanboy nonsense.

Let me rephrase. I don't see anyone going berserk, just questioning the sanity of someone who obviously has some agenda against the 3DS.

EDIT: Let's clear this up. Are you talking about the stupid post? Because that was stupid. The reactions towards the post do not seem to be.

I'm not singling out the stupid ones, there are enough to make it boring.  It's just a classic sitcom misunderstanding that leads to more misunderstandings, with the spectre of fantardism confusing things further and the need for some people to blame the not-present Other when they realised they're fighting amongst themselves.
