I used to feel that way about gaf atheists, but then I realized that depending where they live, it's not like they can talk about it irl without repercussion, so why hold something against people who are probably using their only outlet to express their anger/frustration? Most other religious positions are seen as okay outside the internet. One time I went to a Wendy's and some guy walked up to me tell me about the lord Jesus Christ my supposed Savior. I told him naw, that's okay bro, don't believe that stuff. And he freaked. I ended up having to take my food somewhere else when all I wanted to do was eat in Wendy's. So it's pretty understandable because to many people religion is a huge deal and if you deny their religion, they see you as an enemy. Using the internet to talk about something that's not seen as a legit topic irl seems like something internet was made for, doesn't it?
Of course that doesn't fix the fact that many look like assfucks, but there it is. Have the same opinion on r/atheism even though it's a cesspool.
