Do you think there are any fit people who support the ethical treatment of the obese? Because I can't help assume anyone who complains about that stuff is at least two-fifty plus.
i don't even know what the goal of "ethical treatment of the obese" is. no more fat jokes? protected class under the constitution? no more remarks about what they could do to lose weight?
9/10 times, it's lifestyle, dietary, and exercise related. i.e. a problem a lot of people bring on themselves. Even a low metabolism can be managed with diet and exercise, so that you don't look large, round, and unhealthy.
Then, since they know they don't have a rare glandular problem, they cite other treatable things like depression.
i think these people are seeing a lot of awareness being raised about race, sexuality, etc. and they're saying...."I want a piece of that pie"

They must think every "unique" subset of humans is unconditionally entitled to protected class status.
this would be like me complaining about being addicted to cigarettes, but instead of changing myself, i lash out at those who criticize me for it.
