Eh, FoTNS is good for FoTNS fans and very accurate to the show.  One Piece is good for OP fans and very accurate to the show.  If you aren't a fan of either series and just look at them as musou games, they don't really compare to the quality of something like WO3.

I don't think they are bad games, but in the lower tier than the A team games.

How much of those two games have you played?

Are you seriously going to argue that license aside, FoTNS is as good as the best DW/WO games?  I love OP and I'm certainly not going to argue OP is as good as those.  FoTNS/OP have tiny rosters compared to the big meaty DW/SW/WO/GM games.

You seem to be ignoring that I think FoTNS & OP are good musou games.  Just between the team that does SW/DW/WO/GM and the team that does FoTNS/OP, I think the former is the A-team and the latter is the B-team.

Apparently the Musou Battlefields feature is kinda busted on 360 since there's supposedly NO created stages up to DL.  :(

I agree.  It didn't really reach A-tier quality until DWG3.  I'm sure if they do more OP/FoTNS it'll just keep getting better and better.

WAIT. A fuck second. DWG1 was better than 2 entirely, and in some ways is better than 3.

DWG1 has the superior story and charactarization. In mission events meant more and the game was just incredibly charming. DWG3 is superior to all three in terms of mechanics, but like 2, without a soul.

I traded in DWG2, kept 1 and 3.

DWG2 was terrible, yeah.  I liked 1 a lot, but overall 3 is a way better game.  The only place where 3 is weaker is story.  The roster & gameplay are sooooo much better than DWG1.

DWG1 has my favorite cutscenes in any musou game to date.

I thought DWG1 was the best because I like the large, expansive maps, even if some concepts appeared half baked.  DWG3 felt claustrophobic by comparison but was otherwise an excellent game.  DWG2 was a really awful version of DWG3.  I think we can all agree that part 2 is the worst.

Played them enough to see what is good/bad about them.

You said a few pages back that these games were in your backlog.  I still want to know how much you played...playing some of Ken's story mode and not playing the other main mode is not enough when it comes to FoTNS, for example.

FoTNS has HUGE skill trees for its characters though.  It takes way, way longer to build someone up and the difference between the characters is more noticeable.

I'm not ignoring it...I'm still waiting for you to say how much you have played these games.   :lol  I played the shit out of FoTNS -and still have a bunch of stuff I could do in the game- and actually do put it up there with the best.  I loved it...bought all the DLC for it too...some of the challenge maps are brutal.

I haven't played enough of One Piece, on the other hand, to completely judge it, but while it seems to be a fun little romp, it really feels lacking compared to pretty much all the other musou games that I have played.  Gundam and Hokuto did it better.

I'll give you all of that- I did like the larger maps of the original. DWG1 was a lot of oldskool musou- where 3 borrows from a lot of the empires and later dw/sw games. I will say they totally did us a solid by including so many dlc gundams from the latest series

But what did that entail?  Was it just the story mode?

A lot of people wrote the game off because of how Kenshiro plays in the beginning of the story mode or seem to think everyone plays like he does.

Anyway, the big thing here is that FoTNS has a Musou mode....One Piece seems to just be the story mode and that's it.  That's disappointing.

I honestly think FotNS Musou is as good as a FotNS game will EVER get.

The Arc System Works fighting game had way more fan service going on, but yeah, FoTNS by Koei really nailed some stuff.  I guess they could do another game based on the later storylines but I'd rather see them Musou-ify something else.

Maxed out Zhou Tai, Ginchiyo Tachibana, and Nemea.

I decided to go with an all female group: Joan of Arc, Nene, and Sun Shang Xiang.  Joan of Arc and Sun Shang Xiang already have four star weapons with lots of attributes courtesy of the lottery so I'm kicking ass with this trio already.

I'm about a third of the way through the Story Mode.

I dunno why anyone would play SB1/2 when 3 exists.

I guess SB2 for the stories and any characters that didn't make it over to 3, but there is zero reason to ever touch SB1.  It's such an inferior game to 2/3.

SB2/Heroes for the stories and more playable characters and modes.

Definitely no point in playing SB1.  I didn't even like that game very much when I tried it.  Capcom improved parts of it when they localized as Devil Kings.  Never played that version so I don't know what was changed.

And why not make it a complete package by throwing in Basara X?
