Was ready to be harsh on the new Blade of the Immortal adaptation but the first ep was much better than I expected. It's very heavily stylized which I guess is cheaper than having to actually animate fights. It worked for me though, at least in this episode.

The Takeshi Miike film might end up being the best adaptation still, it rocks but 3 eps in now and it's good, much better than the one ten years ago. Read the manga though. Samura is sick, I love him. Probably my favorite mangaka, him and Tsutomu Nihei.

Started rewatching Gunsmith Cats since I finally got the Bluray from the Animeigo Kickstarter. The quality is so good, you can actually see all the little inconsistencies with the different cel layers. It's great. And the anime itself is still fantastic, of course.

I've heard the Disney dub [with Phil Hartman] and it's pretty good, I'm assuming the earlier Streamline dub [which doesn't have Phil Hartman] probably isn't all that good.

The first dub was commissioned by Tokuma Shoten for Japan Airlines' flights, and was only ever commercially released as part of Ghibli laserdisc box set in Japan.

Yes- episode four was last weekend. You can only get it fansubbed right now. Am assuming that Netflix has the rights to this new season and are waiting for it to finish before they put it up next year, like the first season. Not gonna wait for that!
