The first GRAW came out in the first few months too. The 360 had a great start.
Oh man, I forgot about GRAW. That game was awesome. I still go back and play it sometimes. Yep. Definitely an awesome start.

I guess it just means the entire first year was awesome. I remember GAF going nuts for the table tennis game and I just didn't see the appeal.

Uno was pretty big for XBLA in the early months at GAF for some reason.

yep. PDZ looked fantastic especially for the time, you really felt like it was a giant leap forward from the first xbox. The bright sun drenched rooftops of that first level and then going inside to that blue lit factory or whatever was looked great. The people saying the game was shit probably didn't even play it, they just looked at early screens on Neogaf or wherever and just wanted to chime in on group think orgies.

Lot of early xbox games suffered on forums because playstation fanboys downplayed them as xbox 1.5 stuff, which was just silly if you ever played them.

The early 360 stuff suffered on internets message boards because there was nothing to compare it to side by side; it was first out of the gate and was getting compared to what turned out to be a bunch of bullshit from Sony. Not gonna be the case this time, although I expect the durango and PS4 to be pretty much comparable. The fun will be in comparing weeeeeeeeoooooooooo games to either of them.

Both looked uneven to me. I thought Conker had a more cohesive look to it than Kameo, even though parts of Kameo was clearly more impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case for early PS4 and xbox3 games too; although, Killzone 4 looked like it has Resistance's problem of being consistently blah.

PDZ had great multiplayer, once you got past how badly it controlled. I didn't and still don't like Kameo. First played it on a friend's 360 and thought it was almost as bad as rare's star fox game; tried it again a month or two ago and still didn't like it. From there Rare's games got better with the Viva Pinata series and Banjo Nuts and Bolts. Nuts and Bolts is still my favorite 360 game.

I think Oblivion was the first "wow, impressive game" this gen, while Gears of War was the first mind blowing game. GRAW was up there too.

Some PS3 games dont get the props either, like Resistance and Motorstorm. When I first got a ps3 after already owning a 360 I was still impressed by both, maybe mainly due to the fact my expectations where sat low by 360 fans dismissing both.

Now that I think of it I wasnt too hyped for last gen either before it hit, only after getting a 360 I was like woooow gaming is good again.

I'm not playing the declarative insider. I said that just because there isn't much announced for Vita, doesn't mean there's nothing to announce for it at E3, because that's where games get announced (so it's kinda dumb to say they have nothing to show at E3.) is anyone gonna disagree with that? and I was just positing something about this because everyone always jumps to the worst conclusion.

Valve changed their DLC terms a few years back so that any game on Steam with DLC has to have the ability, but not necessarily exclustivity, to purchase it on the Steam store. i.e. A Mass Effect suit can be bought in game, but you have to have a Steam version available too.

EA said nope.avi and removed all games like that.

They still put out 'complete' and GOTY versions of games (and The Sims for whatever reason)
