Here is my former car:

Started up after 4 years of sitting there after nothing more than a battery swap. Same gas from may 2008.

Drove it to its new home.

And cleaned it up!

I took the original rims off of that car, and my friend put those gold camaro ones that he had uformerly used on a 1987 monte Carlo LS he had. The original rims are as gummed up and gross as the car was, but they are going to be restored.

I'm at my wit's end with the fucking Mini Cooper. I've replaced fucking everything in that damn car's cooling system (headgasket as well) and now it's boiling water in the reservoir and overheating. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. I spent last night changing the water pump on that POS and no fucking go.

Modern bumpers are just plastic, styrofoam, and fiberglass. This makes them much safer when hitting pedestrians but it requires replacing the whole thing when you get a small dent, unlike those old metal bumpers.

So yeah, it most definitely will cost a shitload. Like around $1,000 iirc. I had a fender bender about a month after getting my license at 18 (no damage to the other car!) but since my car was such a cheap shitbox and not worth repairing, I just repositioned the license plate up a few inches to cover the small damaged area.

some dumbshit rear ended MY GIRLFRIEND a week or two ago so badly the frame had to be pulled and then all the subframes jiggled to get the wheels back into alignment. the insurance company weaseled out of totaling her 10 year old completely stripped down corolla, but we're getting rid of the car anyway, because i don't trust a car after its been on a frame puller ಠ_ಠ

Keyless entry is my favorite thing since I discovered it on the Corvette C6. Keyless entry with push start ignition is the shit.

A friend of mine left his car in front of my building before going on vacation, and asked me to drive it around the block every couple of weeks. I did that a few times during the summer, but haven't touched it in over 4-5 weeks. I tried to start it today, but it wouldn't ever start ignition. Battery completely dead.

He'll be arriving today in the afternoon, so I don't think there's anything I could do before his arrival. I've no idea how old his batteries were, or whether simply jump starting it would be enough or not. How much are the battery prices on average? He's driving a 2007 Ford Fusion (4-cylinder). If it's anywhere near $100+ I'm going to die.

Try to jump it, and if it starts, drive it around for awhile so it can charge back up.

If its totally dead, just buy him the cheapest one from Walmart. lol Or don't buy one at all. Not your car, not your problem.

It'll be around 100. But if it's only been a couple of months/weeks then jumping it should be fine.

As for the battery, it is unlikely that a 2007 would be completely shot. A jump should be fine.
