The anniversary buff for the legendary drop rate is being continued- it's not the baseline legendary drop rate

So, two awesome things finally happened the past couple of days.

First, I finally got a fucking Ring of Royal Grandeur to drop, so that I can maximize the benefit from different set pieces on my wizard. It's a pretty good one, too.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Triumph-1211/hero/22191855

Then, the other day I got the plan for the lv 70 Hallowed items to drop, and the shield for that gives a bonus to holy skill damage, which means my Cruasder now has a beastly total 47% bonus to all of her skills; this combined with DAT FLAIL I got to drop recently for her means that when I call in bombardment, SHIT GONNA MELT. She's also got 24% total damage bonus against elites, which means she just nukes shit like no one's business.

I played a bit over the holiday weekend... completed my Shen Long set, so I can throw Hadoukens if I please. Also fixed some rolls on my Shard of Hate and Bul-Kathos Wedding Band. Not really sure what my growth plan should be from here....? I still have some non-legendary slots to fill in, and some possible sets to complete. But overall I'm not seeing HUGE leaps I can be making.

I skipped over the last gen console versions, but ended up picking up Ultimate Evil Edition on my PlayStation© 4 home entertainment console -- Where the Greatest Play©. Overall, works better than I expected with a controller. Being able to play local co-op with the missus is fun. Good times. Would recommend.

Well, right now it certainly is. I'm still in the first Act, playing on Normal currently. So it's not like there's any testing of skills where I'm remiss about not having the accuracy of a mouse and the flexibility of a bunch of hotkeys. But I have Diablo 3 on PC. Never did finish it (my wife played a lot more of it than I did), but this seems like more or less the same game to me.

For single player, I'd have probably just stuck with the PC game if I was itching to give it another go. But I really do think the local co-op is a welcome addition here.

I played the initial release on PS3 and yeah, just a hack/slash fun fest. I just played through once with a wizard, didn't level all the way up to (at the time) 60 and do endgame stuff.

Basically, if you're looking for something fun (especially co-op) to play for a while, get it on console. If you're looking to lose your life, get it on PC.

I managed to get a crusader up to 40 or 50 something last time they had that week long 100% (or was it 50%?) exp boost going on. Got my DH up to T3 raiding (grouped). Might go back to my wiz with this patch though. Abandoned her because wizards are OP, easy as fuck and everyone plays one now ='(

Wizards were actually in a shitty place for a while there as far as T6 rifting went. 2.1 fixes a lot of that, though. But, for a while there the best classes to play were Witch Doctor, Crusader and Demon Hunter.

(Monks are still shitty, sadly)

Monks were actually on top of the Greater Rift leaderboards for a minute on the PTR, thanks to a zero DPS build that took advantage of Rimeheart/Furnace in conjuction with Exploding Palm. Just stack survivability, get those to proc, profit.

Of course that got nerfed into oblivion.

I'm trying to gear a Wizard, Crusader and Witch Doctor in that order. WD is the easiest to play but it's kind of boring. I need like 2 or 3 more pieces of the Firebird's set in order to have T6 capable wizard.  Although, check out the Ring of Royal Grandeur I got to drop finally:

I started playing a Wizard on season and catassed the entire labor day weekend away.

Firebird set is insane. You just Blizzard/Apocalypse and round up everything and let the DoT do all the work. Elite packs die to Meteor/Blizzard/Black Hole combo in seconds.  The best part is that you don't have to really stick around for the kills, you just keep moving.

Even with optimized gear I can clear T4 in about 5 minutes and T5 in eight. Compared with my 2.0.6 monk-LOL, not even playing the same game.

I started a season as a wizard also. The loot is tight enough that it reminds me a little of what it was like at launch. Crafting is limited, but that was expected.

It has to be a little jarring going from a firebird set to a dirty poor with a Harry Potter wand.

I have the firebird set on my season character-what was jarring was going from the trashcan league DPS of my 2.0.x monk to basically being a walking conduit pylon with wizard + firebirds set.

The start from scratch nature of the seasons is great. I had a lot of fun playing with different abilities while leveling and in early gearing as I got interesting drops. If I was doing this on the regular servers I wouldn't have explored the options nearly as much since I had so much good gear to carry over.

Speaking of carrying over, I am looking forward to passing on a blade of prophecy I looted on my Wizard to my regular crusader. That was an eye opener when it dropped.

I'm playing a Crusader, because they have the best seasonal legendary- a shield that when combined with Blade of Prophecy enables an endgame viable build. Also, I just like Crusaders. I haven't been able to catass so much unfortunately but I plan on doing so this coming weekend, which should be awesome since I'll have my new PC together by then.

Frag- yeah, Firebird set is absurd. I'm one piece away from having it on my non-seasonal Wizard. I could have it active with my RoRG but one of the pieces of the set (gloves) are absolute trash.

No, Adventure mode on hard. You can still get it to where you 1-2 shot trash mobs as long as you upgrade your weapon regularly at the blacksmith. Also, socket diamonds into your armor- the all res is a big survivability boost.

...I did get a Leoric's Signet with 30% bonus xp to drop at lv 22, and that's probably been helpful too.

But, if you want to level up quickly just use the Miner's Gold exploit. I don't think they've fixed it.
