I felt the same way too. I hadn't touched it again until the expansion went on sale, enjoying it more now.

Still 20 dollars at GameStop. http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/diablo-iii-reaper-of-souls/113384

Honestly, I wish I waited to play this game until it hit the PS4. The online auction house and other countless connection issues ruined the game for me on PC. :-\

But new expansion plus host of other improvements. I should probably jump back in to see what's changed. :hyper

If you're like me, and just want to play through the campaign and do some adventuring, this is a much better experience than when it first came out on PC. I think I got 2/3 through before I saw a legendary drop on PC, and I've seen several already on this updated version.

I got my 6 (5+RoRG) Akkhan's set today, and a Fate of the Fell yesterday. Holy Shotgunning fools up in hurr

:rejoice

...can't do T6 quite yet though, need a Leoric's Crown and more cooldown reduction in general before I can have Akkhan's Champion permanently up.

Just read the descriptions of the classes and pick one to play that you think you'll enjoy. Play at a difficulty level you enjoy.

The thing about the game is that you can take away from it whatever you want. Just want to play through the campaign once? You can do that and it will be fun. Want to level your character to 70? You can have fun doing that, too.  You can also be a complete sperglord and grind for hundreds of hours for incremental upgrades to your gear like me.

They suck in the very extreme endgame, on the highest difficulties. Fine for everything else.

I would say to play all the classes and find which one you will have the most fun with. Monk's are a lot of fun and it's going to take a couple hundred hours before it starts being no fun. We are talking torment levels of difficulty where the wall shows up.
Wizards are great once you get that energy beam. : :lawd
Crusader is great ass kicker who can throw the shield around like Captain America.
Monk kicks a bunch of ass
Demon Hunter is meh. Some people like it.
Witch Doctor has some weird shit, but they get very powerful and have some cool spells.

I must have got 4 legendaries and found a rare staff that did 131% damage improvement. I've never found a weapon that had that kind of jump in DPS.

I swear drop rates are better in 2.1. In 50+ hours on my seasonal character, I have:

-found a complete Akkhan's set for my Crusader
-almost found a complete Roland's set
-found two Stone of Jordans, which is 2 more than I've found in well over 1,000 hours of gameplay previously
-found two Ramaladni's gifts (adds a socket to weapons that don't have one) which granted isn't that impressive since you could only get them starting in 2.1
-found a Fate of the Fell, which I haven't found in roughly the same playtime on my non-seasonal cruasder

Now if I could just find a fucking Blade of Prophecy...

Ehhhh. The shield is really good but I need a really good Crusader Shield, because they can roll cooldown reduction, and really the # 1 thing if you're a Crusader in the endgame is getting enough cooldown reduction to keep Akkarat's Champion up constantly. I did find an ok Vigilante Belt, which rolls cooldown reduction, but it can't have all resist on it. :-\

Yes, that's 45 million toughness

Finally got my Blade of Prophecy to drop today, which allowed me to switch up my law to a defensive one; when I have Akkarat's Champion and the active skill of the law in effect, I'm pretty much unkillable even in T6. I still have about 3 seconds of cooldown in between Akkarat's Champion activations, so the search for another piece of gear with cooldown reduction continues.

Being able to switch up your skills is a huge deal damn. I'm still kinda playing with my character a bit, but I'm starting to settle in a groove. The game is a little unusual at first, as someone who has only really played diablo 2 and not WoW, but once I got to about level 40 it started to gel.

I was more interested in the paladin and new tile set than the story (at the end of DIII you save heaven for fucks sake).

Listen, i have an autistic mentality when it comes to shit like this as it had the stench of overpriced DLC all over it. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

Anyway for UK brehs you can make use of the strong sterling by buying it off the US battlenet site, gift the key to yourself and apply to EU account. Expansion pack for Ł12.28. Fuck yes, not even i can be a stingy cunt for that much.

You need to start crafting upgrades, mac. Some of those legendary set plans you find are pretty useful- Aughild's, Ashaera's, Capt. Crimson's and to a lesser extent Cain's. Those are the bridge that will get you into Torment, and once you're in there you start getting truly useful legendary drops, including your class sets.

(although I have no real room to talk, I once accidentally enchanted the wrong stat on a pair of Akkhan's gloves because I was drunk)

Levelled a DH in seasons to 70 today, because why not?

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Triumph-1211/hero/54007673

I'll borrow the amulet and Stone of Jordan from my seasonal wizard and run her through some rifts tomorrow.

Even if you don't get the Boon of the Hoarder gem from the Vault like I haven't in seasons yet, if you can get to the point where you can handle Torment VI easily with a character you'll never really be broke. Doing one set of Act I bounties takes me 10-15 minutes and nets me like 2.3 million gold. Plus, you get a guaranteed legendary from the bounty bag if you do it on T6, and Act 1 has the Ring of Royal Grandeur, which is like the best fucking thing since sloppy head.

Pet builds are clearing higher greater rifts after the pet toughness buffs, but Jade builds are still pretty good and can clear T6 handily.

Witch Doctor and Crusader imo are the most varied classes right now- there are several endgame viable builds. DH only has Marauder, Wizard only has FB, etc. Barb has two but barbs just bore me. Monks... lol, monks. Poor fuckers.

well i'm hoping by the time i can hit t6 comfortably if I even go that far (do alright in t3 but it's pointlessly slow), I'll have my ring of royal grandeur, thus can keep my quetzalcoatl, which seems like it would benefit me greatly with bane of the powerful. all theoretical, of course. I just want to be 'that guy' playing without pets haha.

I do need to figure out how to best up my dps and crit #'s, right now with haunt/pestilence/creeping death I do around 1.8/2.5 mil dmg a tick, and sometimes hit with soul harvest for 6 or 7 mil. cooldown isn't an issue right now for the most part, i just circle and spirit walk/piranhado/horrify/soul harvest while the damage chips away.

You can get crit chance on your helm, bracers, mojo, rings, gloves and amulet. Dmg on rings, amulet, gloves, and most importantly socket your weapon and stick a big fat emerald in it. Do that and your damage is gonna sky rocket.  The general rule is that you want about 10 times the crit dmg as your crit chance, so 40/400 is what most people shoot for. I have 50 crit chance on my Crusader but only about 325% crit dmg currently, due to the fact that I HAVE to have cooldown reduction on just about every piece of gear that can get it. I still crit for like 30 million plus tho.

No, but you'll get it to drop at lv 70 all the time. There are better crusader shields to get, though. Frydehr's Wrath, Hellskull and Unrelenting Phalanx are all used in endgame viable builds.
