I'm attentively looking forward to the next season on hardcore but I'm still salty about the colossal gap in returns between group play and solo play. I wish they had League/SC2 sort of player tiers so I could compete against a smaller slice of players with similar investment and playstyle.

Probably will just keep playing POE instead tbh.

I don't have the time to sink into an arpg like that, and I also hate the economy in PoE. Fuck trading with other goddamn people, I want to run solo. Of course, running solo in D3 is orders of magnitude less efficient than running in groups, but whatever. I feel like each new season in D3, you can play for 30ish hours and outfit a couple of classes in whatever new gear got added, which is always fun. Will be fun to fuck around with the Cube, too.

Keeping my eye on Gamescom next week to see if there's another expansion in the works, but honestly I kind of doubt it. We'll see.

I like the concept of the trade system, and being able to barter, however the system is too annoying for me to deal with most of the time. I've mainly solo'd without buying much of anything; as an example I've bought two items for my main character in the new league (on the highest difficulty). Ultimately crafting makes it pretty easy to skip trading...at least from what I've seen over the years.

That Cube sounds fucking amazing though. That's the type of customization I wanted in D3.

Ultimately I'm kind of lazy- I want to be able to fuck around for 30-50 hours and get endgame gear and experience upper level builds. I can do that in D3. Not sure if that's the case in PoE, but it seems like the economy there is focused more on trading and less on self found/gambled drops like in D3.

Season 4  :preach

I really like the addition of the Season's Journey. It gives you a list of specific things to accomplish to move onto the next chapter. It's goal oriented and better than just starting the season and running aimlessly through adventures or story missions just for gear.

Rifts no longer need gems. Set and legendary recipes are plenty(though some aren't for your class :comeon )

From my first 3 pulls from Kadala, I got a leg source and a leg ring.  :obama

I have no idea how to use Kanai's cube yet.

I am enjoying this game again.  :)

They're fun. You can level a character to 70 in 5ish hours solo, and less in a party. Starting this season, once you complete a series of 3 pretty easy to do objectives you get a full set (2 pieces per objective completed).

I usually sink about 30-40 hours into a season, level 2-3 characters up to 70 and get them decked out. Seasons are going to last for 3 months going forward.

Looks like Wizard will be the most powerful ladder/season build this go around. Here's an idea of all the shit you have to do to make the build work. Literally every slot has something you have to run, and cycling the skills to make the build work is a chore.

My fire birds finery build is pretty legit, was serving up 70mil crits last night when fighting large groups with elites. Using some bracers or something that spawn elites when you collect a pylon and I flew through some level 30 greater rifts. I have the helm extracted in my cube that gives the time bubble thing all its runes, I set that, use the fire damage gravity ball dealio, fire sword up some dudes to get a multiplier goin, then blast em with the fire damage beam attack. Burn em all.

If you haven't played in that long, then the answer is definitely yes. The amount of content added since RoS launch is basically an expansion's worth.

Keep them until you're pushing higher torment levels/greater rifts. Basically, until they aren't useful anymore. You can also extract their legendary affixes and equip them as passives via Kanai's Cube.

My DMO wizard is pretty much as good as I can get it now besides plugging levels into my legendary gems, trying to find ancient replacements for some of my legendaries, and maxing paragon points. Have solo'd up to a level 53 greater rifts with it, adventuring on torment 10 has been a cake walk.

After a long time restructuring my skills and equipment I'm capable of surviving Torment I without much issue so I bumped it to Torment II, we'll see how it goes!

So I got this recently on xbox 1. I need a dummies guide to this game. I played it originally on PC and beat it like once when it came out and never touched it again.

What are seasons?
How do I the end game stuff?
What site do I use as a guide to build proper classes?
What is adventure mode?
etc, etc,

- Seasons are a game mode that lasts around 3 months, that lets you start a new character without getting access to your gold, stash, blood shards or anything. So you start over completely (there are also separate leaderboards for seasons), and then everything gets rolled over to non-season once the seasons end. Think of it like playing on a new separate account where everyone starts fresh, and then they all get the items/XP/gold/etc moved to their main account once it ends. It's so that everyone gets to start on the same level without any advantages. It's a fun competition, but also has a Seasonal Journey that gives you seasonal rewards (like player portraits) that you can do too.

- End game is basically Adventure Mode, which you unlock once you kill Malthael in story/campaign mode. People consider Greater Rifts to be end game, usually they try to push themselves and see how high they can go (either solo or in groups). Adventure Mode has different things you can do, while campaign mode is just story mode with quests. Bounties, nephalem rifts, greater rifts etc.

- Icy Veins is currently the most informative website that has builds, guides and pretty much everything you need. It's easy to navigate and is very in-depth but simple to read.

www.diablofans.com for your build needs

Really though, the "endgame" is not for everyone. If you don't like obsessively grinding for dozens, if not hundreds of hours for incremental gear upgrades, that part of the game probably isn't for you.

He could always play through the story 25 times.

Anyway, I see what you mean, but eventually you'll run out of things to do and GR is the best option. He can spend fun times leveling up many classes, and run a lot of nephalem rifts, do augs and what not, but he might get bored before that.

But D3 is pretty dry in general. Need more modes and things to do that aren't all about competition or farming.  Dunno how much more they can and should do though, the game is what it is.

D4 when
