I don't know, I was pretty happy to see Tonk's tits tonight.

*fist bump*

Freyj- difference is, in the books it took until the fifth one for her to get shitty

It got much worse in the fifth, but since my initial read years ago seeing her name after turning to a new chapter just makes me want to stop reading.

Best episode of the season.

Everything was hitting the right notes perfectly.

Even the Dany scenes were great!

Best episode of the season, glad what his name Lannister was killed dude was annoying.

Danny plot is still fucking ridiculous and I'm pissed they changed one of my favorite Cersie line also pissed at the sympathetic Cersie bullshit, didn't these guys read AFFC?

Cersei had some sympathetic development in ACOK, come on.

I've questioned Weiss and Benioff many times in the past, but I must say that was brilliantly written. Nearly every scene was great, even the small stuff like Hodor happily cracking nuts for Rickon.

I was too busy to pay attention to the twitter reactions, but I'll check them now. People must be either pissed or speechless. I'd imagine there will be lots of debate among new viewers over what happened at the end, can't wait to read up on it.

So many goosebumps. "You know nothing, Jon Snow." Oh man, perfect. An amazing exposition scene with Tywin and Arya. That amazing sequence with Pyratt Pree. Shae...not being annoying. And Jamie and Brienne, oh boy

Seems like most new viewers have guessed Bran didn't die. It could have been edited and directed better, very unimaginative in terms of how the various scenes were presented.

As long as its not anal, you're good. Women will do anal though to preserve their "vaginal virginity" before marriage.

That's not unique to muslim society, I know several "good christian girls" that did anal before vaginal because it wasn't "real" sex.

I just find there is never any satisfaction or payoff in any episode. So many threads are unravelling, but in the 7 episodes in this season virtually nothing cool has happened, no one significant has had their ass kicked, and all the annoying POSs are still on my screen blabbering their bullshit. I would pay 10$ for a special episode where Khaleesi's cohort dude pisses in her mouth while rambling in old english.   Hence why I'll wait until all the eps are out, and watch then.

And yes I don't know a lot of the characters actual names as they are never mentioned in the show and I'm not a nerbo who has read the books

Agreed, by far. I thought the Jon stuff was great due to how amazing Ygritte is. It's not that she's so cute, she's a damn good actress and just owns the role. And I got goosebumps at the "you know nothing, Jon Snow" line. Yesssss

Sure, I'll miss the suspenseful events that happen in the book, but I'll wait and see what happens next episode before complaining.

Thoughts on the Jaime change? Some book people are wringing their hands, claiming this makes him a sociopath. As if throwing a kid out a window doesn't  :lol

Yep.  I haven't read the books, either, and I assume that's the problem.  There's absolutely no reason to watch this show week-to-week when there isn't an individual episodic arc and nothing of significance is boiling over without the foresight provided by knowing where it's headed.

Last episode in particular: Jon Snow walked around in the tundra some more, Dany is still missing her dragons, Arya served some dinner (best part of an otherwise awful episode), Jamie escaped and got caught again and the only thing changed is that everyone wants to kill him extra dead now (but they still probably won't), and there was an obvious cliffhanger ending.  How exciting.

I don't think it has anything to do with not having read the books; all of my irl friends who haven't read the books still think the show is awesome and incredibly well done.  One of two possibilities comes to mind- you expected a more action oriented series, and what you've been given is still at heart true to the books in that it's largely about what goes on behind the scenes with the people who rule; or option two, you're petulant wankers with shitty taste.

If it's option one, don't worry- I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the final three episodes of the season.  I expect them to be full of action and SHIT HAPPENING.  If it's option two, do everyone else a favor and quit watching the show so we don't have to hear you whining like a little fucking girl.

I can understand the general complaint of "nothing happening" for the first two episodes, where everyone basically talks about shit they're going to do. But the show has pretty much been on a roll since then, from Theon taking Winterfell to Tyrion doin thangs to the Stannis/Renly stuff. Yes, Arya is kind of stuck in a holding pattern, as was Jon in the last ep, but you can see where both arcs are going for the most part.

That is a valid complaint, however I really liked his scene with Cersei, where you can tell he's like "I really ought to be nice to her right now but I just don't know how"

Dinklage will probably just keep winning Emmys and Golden Globes n shit as long as this show is on

Hell, Cersei was pretty good in that scene too - and in this season overall. I didn't like her in S1, but the actress is definitely being elevated by the presence of Dinklage.

Dunno how I feel about her admitting the incest to Tyrion. He knows in the book, and trolls her mercilessly about it but she never outright confirms his snark. What a shame the show didn't include this gem: "It seems unfair that you would spread your legs for one brother, but not the other"  :lol

I can agree with that.

Tywin, Robb, Jorah, Jaime, Cat are good actors/actresses too (I think Jorah's actor overdoes it a bit).

And everyone is better than Sansa & Dany.  Fuck, she they are such a bad actresses.  Dany overacts SO MUCH.  Sansa is just lolz, but that's her character, so hard to blame.

I think the problem might be that Jorah is too dead pan shakespeare serious good acting for the group of lolz actors he is surrounded by in that story.  So he comes off as out of place, which I guess sort of fits his character, but it just seems like his acting level is on a whole different plateau than Dany and stuff.

The one thing I know is
spoiler (click to show/hide)

[close]

I'll just give a couple examples:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
-In the book, Jon captures Ygritte and she is taken alongside the other Nights Watch members until she escapes. Halfhand later begins to realize the Wildlings are tracking them, which leads to some very suspenseful, tense moments. In the show Jon runs after Ygritte and gets lost, which makes so little sense considering how close they were to the Halfhand.

-After Tyrion secures power in King's Landing and learns about Cersei's plans to use wild fire, he turns his attention to a specific strategy to save the city from Stannis. In the show he seems to just be dicking around complaining about Joffery

-Arya starts out at the bottom of servitude in Harenhel before becoming a cup bearer. And even when she does reach that level, her life is still in grave danger. While I love her scenes with Tywin, there is next to no tension, nor is her situation dangerous: she's having a grand ole time serving good ol' uncle Tywin, who gives her some life lessons. Like I said, the scenes are good, but I still see this as a missed opportunity. Her book arc is very fucking good, and very frightening. Maise Williams is such a good actress that many people hoped her ACOK story would be told with nothing held back
[close]

One thing that has sort of been botched is the potential threat of Stannis. No one in the city seems particularly panicked that the best battle commander in Westeros is on his way to attack. Tyrion has shown some concern, but he hasn't done much about it in the last few episodes. It's just weird and trivializes Stannis to me. B

First one, doesn't seem like a big deal.  Second one, I can see holding it off until later, since it has touched on it.  Third one, I can totally see why people would complain; it sounds completely different.  So those Tywin scenes are original? because they're my favorite parts of the show.

and yeah what happened to Stannis  :lol

show is pretty good at touching base on the various threads but I forgot Stannis was around

There was more focus on Stannis when he had no men or ships. Now he has 200 ships and they're like "lol Stannis, who?" smh
