I didn't realize that aesthetics was a major factor in our shopping here. I thought we were looking for "something that's low profile, easy to use, easy to maintain, and reasonable in price." If so, buy a Glock. How would you even know what is impressive about a handgun in the first place, Queen of Ice? No offense, but you just shot one for the first time recently.
We are all affected by our subjective biases so maybe my opinion is as good as anyone else's, but I've carried a few different handguns professionally in high threat environments. For Pallando's purposes (and yours, actually) I recommend a Glock.
