I checked out a PS4 kiosk this evening at a nearby Sony Store. Here are my Bore exclusive impressions:
I think they've made a mistake rolling these things out with the (lack of) games they have to demo with. Knack is the only real next-gen game on there... and it's Knack.

It looked like the same demo that's been failing to impress me in videos for months. Yes, the right stick dodging makes it slightly amusing but wow what a snooze of a game at first impression. A few graphical effects looked neat and some round things looked pretty round.
Octodad was kind of fun but it's the kind of thing I'd get ina humble bundle or for a couple bucks in a Steam sale.. it doesn't look pretty and it didn't run well either, getting noticeably framey at times. I was also amazed to see an Nvidia Physx logo when it was loading

I didn't bother playing anything else because there were a few people around waiting to be disappointed.
The controller was definitely pretty nice. It is absolutely way better than the crummy DS3. I do wish the d-pad was more vita-esque but it's definitely an improvement over the PS3 one. The triggers are finally sensibly shaped but they're still mushy and don't feel too great. The analog sticks being farther apart is much better of course. Overall I liked it but it didn't blow me away as the hype had led me to expect.
I can't imagine someone going into a Sony Store and trying any of these games and thinking they need to get a PS4. There was no OS available to impress me either. I'm not Killzone fan but this kiosk could have really used some playable Killzone. Or Driveclub

Sony would probably be better off running a sizzle reel.
