messing with it briefly, will play games later in the day.
-controller is really great. triggers could be longer, I feel like I'm on the lip where on 360 I'm in the middle. pretty much everything is better than the DS3, and some things better than the 360 pad (R1/L1 as regular buttons, not clicky; d-pad, buttons). It's not such a wash that I'll switch to playing PC games with it. and none of the ui is designed around the touchpad, so, it feels...fine. surprisingly the light doesn't much reflect off my TV, or at least it's not noticeable.
-system is relatively quiet. I'm coming from launch PS3, ~2009 360, and Wii U. From where I sit it's about as noisy as the Wii U (drowned out, basically). And the system is small. again, compared to PS3 and original 360. and it looks much better in person than it did in pictures. the LED bar at the top is slick.
-Motion typing is great. if you can get this kind of fidelity from the motion sensor alone, I'd love it if shooters let you use it to fine tune aim like on iOS/Wii U/Vita.
-PSN is having a heart attack.
oh, and the power and eject buttons. this is totally nitpicking, A) they're not buttons and B) the symbols are tiny and at first I couldn't tell which was which (the top is power, the bottom is eject)
