The mercenary mode in Resident Evil 6 is amazing. The changes in controls are all great and wonderful for that mode. Played the campaign for about an hour and never touched it after that. Mercenary mode 4 lyf :rock

Eh, I still prefer 4-5's Mercenaries over 6's. The combat changes didn't do anything for me.

I never got past that boss fight in RE4 where you are in a burning barn fighting some monstrosity. I was having fun until that point and felt I was pretty close to the end game.

RE4 is the best game I've ever played. The pacing never lets up, the tension, the best boss in a game ever, the enemy variety rotation is perfect, the scenarios are diverse, the environments, the atmosphere, the controls are great, it has mimicked time and time and again and no one has managed to surpass it. RE4 stomps on classic RE's testicles and turns them into crushed walnuts. The only Resident Evil nearly close to 4 is 2 and even that is a lightweight.

I used to think the village was the best but it really isn't. Lab > castle > village. Regenerators are amazing.

Shoot the barrels and shotgun him in the face. It's a little funky having to climb up and down ladders while avoiding him in a small area but it's do-able. And you're only like 25% done.

Once you get the auto-shotgun the true 4 experience begins.

I think you were only at the 30% mark, at most. RE4 has a ton of content. Just another reason to love it. <3

Also why are they consistently surprised ugly dudes can pull pretty chicks? Barring obvious personality hook ups there's also plenty of hot/pretty chicks to go around that are insufferable who land a guy willing to lavish them with shit.

I'm getting pretty sick of the "oh god i hope he isn't <x_race>" or "oh no he's <x_race>" whenever there's a shooting or similar event. Haven't the Aurora and Newton shootings proven that it doesn't matter? I heard the same shit with the Boston bombings. Can't we just let a tragic event be a tragic event?

Nope. Don't see how that's crass at all considering how it affects people and how they're thought of in a public sense. It's practically impossible for me to NOT think it. I saw images of the dudes and first thing I said in my mind was,"fuck he's black, goddamit." Likewise, with the cop shooting the guy who got in the car accident. I read the article, no mention of race was there. My instincts told me,"the victim better not be black." It is impossible for me to not think it whether it's going on or not.

Please tell me how that is crass if it affects people in the real world?

How does it affect people in the real world?

I didn't see anybody run out and start busting up Chechens because of the Boston bombings. Who cares? Even the media has put noticeably less emphasis on race for these things that I've seen.

As part of the larger discussion that is going to happen, it's understandable that these concerns will arise. As part of how we internalize things, it's not abhorrent that people might tend to focus on how a situation will impact them more than it impacts strangers. However, as the tragedy is unfolding, it makes you look daft at best and a selfish prick at worst when it's clear that the most important thing on your mind that you feel like expressing publicly is "what impact will this have on my life." Not "I feel awful for those people that died." Not "my heart goes out to their friends and families." Instead, it's "how does this fit my agenda?"

There's a time for those concerns, unfortunately. But it's not as the tragedy is unfolding.

How does it affect people in the real world?

I didn't see anybody run out and start busting up Chechens because of the Boston bombings. Who cares? Even the media has put noticeably less emphasis on race for these things that I've seen.

How does it affect people who are black if people already dash away from them while they're walking? I think the answer is obvious.

At some point all of these gun massacres run together and if you're nowhere near the fallout, the idea on your mind will be "how does this affect my already shit station in life?" I'm not saying it has to happen within the thread but it's something constantly on the minds of people who are already afflicted by shit ass stereotypes that affect their every day behaviors.

Doesn't just happen with tragedies either. The other day I witnessed a guy browbeating his girl across from the bar down the street. Got asked if he was black, said yes and the bf just shook his head. He's a huge black dude who tries to go about his day not stepping on toes and shit like that doesn't help his ability to seem less threatening.

Steve, the violence is so common now that each occasion is now blurred. I posted about it on my facebook and guy is like "which shooting?" After enough shootings, it's hard to give a fuck unless it's 30 minutes away from you or you know someone who lives there. This makes it obvious that the number one priority will always fall on the self immediately. This is human psychology, man. People are wired to think like this.

Sure, Himu. But another part of being a functioning member of society is that we understand that it's not always beneficial to publicly express every thought that crosses our minds. Generally speaking, unless I've had too much to drink, I have a working filter that tells me "you know what? I'm going to keep this to myself" when I have concerns -- and since I'm not a minority I'll have to stretch a bit here -- like "Oh no, he played video games and now everyone is going to think that us gamers are violent weirdos."

That's just a for instance. Unfortunately, my privilege means I don't have a great go-to example. It really sucks being a straight white guy. :(

A better example would be people already think gamers are violent weirdos whom need to be avoided at all costs, including crossing the street as soon as one gets behind you because OMG SCARY FELLOW. Then this happens and you're stuck thinking "well shit tomorrow is gonna be fun."

Pure Shot was developed to enable players to feel the same emotion of scoring great goals in FIFA 14 that your favorite striker does on Saturday mornings. The best goals are a combination of perfect timing, anticipation, and great positioning.

If not crafted by EA themselves, the person who wrote this Fifa 14 OT is a massive corporate cock sucking bell end... If you met him in person, you would surely smell Peter Moore's cum on his breath, or see the essence of John Riticello dripping, like ectoplasm, from his arse.

So much pseudo PR in one post it's almost as bad as Sessler comparing grand theft auto to Charles motha fuckin Dickens.

Himu, these posts you and Steve are having? Those are good. Those are fine in a thread about events like this.

But the potshot "woe is me for we are the same race/religion" posts can fuck right off. If you want to have that thought, sure. If you want to discuss the larger implications of race in events like these and how they reflect in the media and the reactions (violent or not) in the public eye, that's great.

But the one-and-done posts summing the entire situation simultaneously into a post about 1. yourself and 2. race/religion, invite no discussion and only seek to shit up the thread at a crucial time when information is scarce and crucial. It's selfish, coldhearted, and disrespectful.

If you care enough about the event to care about the race of the shooter you should care about being respectful of the victims as well. You can't have it both ways.

Well that's a much better written and succinctly argued post, I can agree with all of that and it's a much better argument than "nobody discriminated against Chechens after the boston bombing."

How does it affect people in the real world?

I didn't see anybody run out and start busting up Chechens because of the Boston bombings. Who cares? Even the media has put noticeably less emphasis on race for these things that I've seen.

Fuck no. Their concerns are totally legitimate.

I completely disagree, but can't we at least admit that firing off potshot posts about it as the event is happening is crass at best?

There are definitely selfish reasons why I wouldn't want a shooter to be the same race as me but it also would make a terrorist act more effective if it causes people to associate all members of one racial group with that ideology.

If you compare Anders Breivik to those two Czech Muslims who did the Boston bombing, who do you think is more likely to cause an increase in xenophobia?

Look at these tweets, search for 9/11 (or just read any random one), then tell me why:

Our species is shit at discriminating fairly. That shadow in the bushes might be harmless or it might be a vicious monster coming to kill you. The smart move is to expect the worst and run. If you're mistaken, it's just going to be funny how your imagination played a trick on you. If not, you get to survive and procreate.

Which is why any time you see "criminal, minority" in the media people who share the perpetrators ethnicity wince, because they know it's going to look like "criminal-minority".

I do agree on the live commentary bit, but I find it worse when the media do it, because you just know it's good business for them.

edit: OK, I see I'm LTTP on this, but I couldn't help myself. :'(

Also why are they consistently surprised ugly dudes can pull pretty chicks? Barring obvious personality hook ups there's also plenty of hot/pretty chicks to go around that are insufferable who land a guy willing to lavish them with shit.

So much pseudo PR in one post it's almost as bad as Sessler comparing grand theft auto to Charles motha fuckin Dickens.

saturday mornings?

who the fuck plays on saturday mornings?
